Dramatic Runout Ends Kerbis’ Tournament

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Richard Kerbis had a short stack of around 24,000 to start the hand and went all in from the button. He got a call from Stewart Meredith in the big blind.

Richard Kerbis:AQAll in
Stewart Meredith:AJ

When dealing out the flop, the dealer showed a jack in the window, prompting a sigh from Kerbis, but then the entire QAJ flop was revealed. Kerbis was at risk, but still well ahead.

The turn was the 6 and Kerbis could only lose to two remaining jacks on the river. To Kerbis’ disappointment and disbelief of the table, the dealer turned over the unlikely J and that was it for his tournament.
