Six players saw the flop of 9♣A♥2♣. After both blinds checked, the player under the gun bet 3,000. The bet got called by the player in early position, while the player in middle position folded. Action was then on Greg Heath on the button, who made it 15,000. Both blinds folded, as did the player under the gun.
The last player left in the hand was the early position and after some thought, he decided to go all in for a few thousand more. Heath said he was worried about a set but called.
Early position: A♦7♣
Greg Heath: A♠9♦
The turn and river came the K♣ and 7♦ respectively and while Heath’s opponent also made two pair by the river, Heath’s aces and nines took down the pot.
A player from early position raised to 4,000 and was called by a player in middle position, and the big blind Hye Gyung Kang.
All three players checked after the 6♥8♦A♥ flop.
On the turn was the 7♦ and Kang bet 4,000. She was called by player in early position, and the player in middle position folded.
The river brought the 5♣ and Kang bet out 9,000, which was called by the early position player. She tabled 9♥9♣ for a pair of nines, and her opponent mucked their hand, giving Kang the pot.
Larry Saegert is doing well approaching the end of Day 1, having just taken down a pot of a bit over 30,000 chips.
Saegert opened the action with a raise to 3,200 from the hijack and both players in the blinds called.
The flop came J♥10♣8♦. The player in the small blind decided to lead for 3,200. Big blind folded and Saegert called.
The turn was the 10♥. Small blind slowed down and checked. Saegert bet 8,000, got the call and the two players went to the river.
The 4♣ rolled off. After small blind checked, Saegert bet again, this time for 10,000. Small blind released the hand and Saegert took down the pot.
Saegert told PokerNews that he had A♦10♦ for turned trips, while the player in the small blind said he had KxQx for the busted open-ended straight draw.
It was a battle between the player in the hijack and the player on the button. The hijack raised to 5,000 and Steve Botwin on the button three-bet all in for 21,100 and the hijack made the call.
Steve Botwin: A♣K♥
Hijack: A♥Q♥
The board came out with 4♠10♠4♥K♠Q♠ and Botwin won with the higher two pair.
The hijack joked, "I hit my queen".
Action was picked up on the flop with three players in the pot on a board showing 3♥5♦A♥. A player in the small blind bet 6,000, before Sammy Farha raised all in for 49,000 from middle position. The player in the hijack made the call, and the small blind folded.
Sammy Farha: K♥10♥
Hijack: A♣Q♣
Farha was behind the pair of aces of his opponent but could hit a heart for a flush. When the board ran out J♣ on the turn and the 2♥ on the river, Farha did just that and made a king high flush, to double up and stay in the tournament.
