Benyamine Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 26 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Manh Nguyen raised to 300,000 from under the gun and David Benyamine called in the hijack. On a flop of 554, it checked to Benyamine and his bet of 225,000 won the pot right there without any resistance.

Benyamine then limped in soon after and Jonathan Bowers called in the small blind, Krzysztof Magott checked his option from the big blind. The KQ3 flop was checked and Benyamine's bet of 250,000 won the next pot.

Props, Family & Fortnite: For the Four Members of Team Lucky It's About Much More Than Poker

Level 26 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Team Lucky
Team Lucky

With 14 bracelets and nearly $50 million in tournament earnings between the four of them, there's no denying that Shaun Deeb, Josh Arieh, Daniel Weinman and Matt Glantz are poker crushers. But with resumes that include a $1 million bounty pull, a body fat prop bet victory worth nearly the same amount and a win in the biggest World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in history, it's clear the group of close friends also have luck on their sides.

The four American poker players have branded themselves as "Team Lucky" — a name that Deeb may have come up with, though they aren't certain — as a way of consciously embracing and owning their good fortunes while fighting back against the jaded cynicism all to common in the poker world.

But Team Lucky is about more than once-in-a-lifetime bounty binks and turned two-outers leading to $12 million scores. As PokerNews learned during brunch with its four members, is more about friendship, camaraderie, and shared values than a good run of cards.

Adkins Extends His Lead

Level 26 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Jonathan Bowers opened to 250,000 from middle position and was called by Joshua Adkins in the small blind and Elie Nakache in the big blind.

The flop came J93 and all three players checked leading to the A turn. Adkins checked, Nakache bet 250,000, Bowers folded and Adkins called.

On the J river, Adkins bet 1,100,000 which was enough to force a fold from Nakache.

Bowers Chips Up With Aggression

Level 26 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Jonathan Bowers raised to 250,000 from under the gun and David Benyamine called, as did Elie Nakache in the small blind. On the KJ6 flop, Nakache checked and Bowers made it 650,000 to go. Benyamine let go whereas Nakache called and checked again the 9 on the turn.

Bowers increased his sizing to 1,800,000 and Nakache folded.

Adkins and Bowers Play for All the Marbles

Level 26 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Joshua Adkins
Joshua Adkins

Joshua Adkins made it 250,000 to go in the cutoff and was called by all three players behind including Elie Nakache on the button, Manh Nguyen in the small blind and Jonathan Bowers in the big blind.

The 974 flop was checked by the blinds and Adkins bet 450,000. Nakache called and Nguyen folded, Bowers also called as well.

After the J turn, Bowers bet 1,100,000 and Adkins potted to 5,750,000 for Nakache to fold. Bowers pondered about it for half a minute and piled in his stack, Adkins almost jumped out of his chair in excitement to move forward chips and flip over his cards.

Jonathan Bowers: 10855 All in
Joshua Adkins: QJ108

Both had the nut straight until then but Adkins was freerolling to a superior straight. The river was the 6 and they chopped it up.

"Thank fuck," Bowers could all but say and Adkins told his rail "that was for the tournament".

Bowers Takes from Nakache

Level 26 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

With two players seeing a board of 652 and about 375,000 in the middle, Jonathan Bowers bet 150,000 from the small blind. Elie Nakache meant to call but accidentally threw in 225,000 instead of 150,000. It was ruled that Nakache would have to min-raise to 300,000. Bowers raised to 1,300,000, Nakache folded and Bowers took the pot without showdown.
