Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

Niklas Astedt raised to 250,000 preflop over a limper and Manh Nguyen three-bet to 750,000. The limper got out of the way while Astedt made the call.

The flop came KQ3. Astedt checked, Nguyen shoved and Astedt, who had around 600,000 behind, called off and was at risk.

Niklas Astedt: AK82 All in
Manh Nguyen: AKQJ

Astedt's top pair was in rough shape against Nguyen who had top two pair with a draw to the nut-straight. The rest of the board ran out K6 giving Nguyen kings full of queens to take the pot and send the online legend to the rail in 22nd place.

James Carroll Eliminated in 24th Place ($42,851)

Level 23 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
James Carroll
James Carroll

The action started with a cutoff raise to 150,000 by David Benyamine and Mandy Calara called on the button. James Carroll then potted to 625,000 in the big blind and Benyamine reraised the pot to 2,125,000. Calara eventually called all-in for 1,110,000 and Carroll gave it some thought before he called all-in for another 950,000 behind to be the second-biggest stack in the showdown.

Mandy Calara: QJ98 All in
James Carroll: AKQQ All in
David Benyamine: AA103

The biggest stack remained ahead on the 1063 flop while Calara had a gutshot. Nothing changed with the 5 turn but the 7 river completed an unlikely straight for Calara, as he tripled up.

For Carroll, the worst-case scenario unfolded as he lost the side pot as well and was eliminated on the pay jump for $42,851.

Adkins Asks for All Of It

Level 23 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

With two players seeing a board of Q27910 and around 1,500,000 already in the middle, Niklas Astedt had bet 1,100,000 from the cutoff only for Joshua Adkins to move all in for around 3,500,000 from the big blind. Astedt, who had about 1,200,000 behind, went deep into the tank.

After a few minutes to consider his options Astedt opted to fold and Adkins took down a massive pot without showdown.

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Nino Pansier
Nino Pansier

In the last hand before the break, Nino Pansier scored a double up through James Carroll.

Pansier limped in from under the gun and so did Elie Nakache in the cutoff as well as Richard Gryko in the small blind, Carroll checked in the big blind. Carroll then bet the J95 flop for 150,000 and Pansier was the only caller. After the 3 turn, Carroll bet the pot and Pansier called.

The last of it went in after the Q river on which Carroll initially checked and Pansier jammed. Carroll called and Pansier showed KQJ10 for the nut straight for the double, as Carroll flung his cards into the muck.
