Gruny Doubles with a Set

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Jacob Gruny kicked off the action with a raise to 125,000 from under the gun, and Edward Hatzakortzian called from the big blind.

On the 105Q flop, Hatzakortzian check-raised Gruny's 125,000 bet to 250,000, prompting Gruny to go all in. Hatzakortzian called, revealing Q8 for a pair of queens, while Gruny had a set of fives with 55.

The 2 turn and 3 river didn't change the outcome, and Gruny doubled up, leaving Hatzakortzian with 15 big blinds.

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Four players got the chips in the middle before the flop and Christopher Tollett was at risk for 230,000, while Romain Kowalczyk had 215,000 and Kyle Shappelle called off his stack of less than 200,000 from the big blind and Norihide Tanaka was looking for the triple knockout as he had all three players covered.

Kyle Shappelle: 43 All in
Romain Kowalczyk: QQ All in
Christopher Tollett: A9 All in
Norihide Tanaka: AJ

Kowalczyk's queens held on the K5458 runout and Tanaka took down a small side pot with his ace-high, jack-kicker.

The All-Ins Keep Coming

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Daewoong Song
Daewoong Song

Daewoong Song was on a short stack under the gun with 250,000 chips and went all in. Action folded to Satoshi Tanaka on the button, who three-bet all in for around 1,200,000. Sean Spector was in the small blind and was the third player to push all his chips in for a call. He had around 1,100,000 chips. Kaihung Hu was the big stack at the table and thought for a while before making the call.

Daewoong Song: J3All in
Sean Spector: QQAll in
Satoshi Tanaka: 1010All in
Kaihung Hu: AK

Hu was excited to see he was in decent shape with the two overcards, while Tanaka still had high hopes for his tens.

The flop came AJ7, putting Hu in the lead and giving Song middle pair.

The turn J turning the worst hand the best hand. Hu had outs with the nut diamond draw and the other two players were drawing thin.

The river was the 8, giving Song the lock on the main pot, while Hu also took down an even bigger side pot for the elimination of Spector and Tanaka.

Ismael Bojang
Ismael Bojang

Ismael Bojang, having recently lost a substantial pot, was left with only 185,000 chips. He pushed all his remaining chips into the middle from early position, and Seungjun Noh called from the hijack.

Ismael Bojang: K10All in
Seungjun Noh: A2

Noh connected with the 25Q flop, and the 5 turn and J river didn't improve Bojang's hand, leading to his elimination from the tournament.

Saphier With the Double Knockout

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Melissa Saphier
Melissa Saphier

Mo Xu opened the action from middle position and Sangwon Ko three-bet all in for around 700,000. Action folded to Melissa Saphier in the big blind and she went all in.

Action was back on Xu, who said "call" before he realized that Saphier was also all in. A short discussion ensued about that, but Xu ultimately put in his chips to call all in for over 800,000.

Sangwon Ko: A7All in
Mo Xu: 1010All in
Melissa Saphier: AQ

The flop was 338 and Xu was still ahead.

The turn came the 9, changing nothing. However, to Xu’s great disappointment, the river brought in the A, and he was eliminated, along with Ko.
