Gruny Gets the Double Up; Monterio Eliminated

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Jacob Gruny was sitting in late position and got it all in preflop against Renzo Monterio in the big blind. Monterio had Gruny slightly covered.

Jacob Gruny: 99All in
Renzo Monterio: AJ

The dealer opened the 962 flop to give Gruny a big advantage. Monterio was drawing dead on the 7 turn and the river was the Q. Gruny got the double-up while Monterio was left with just one big blind.

Monterio busted the next hand against John Mooney after Mooney’s QJ held up against his 83.

Allen's Queens Reign Supreme

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Bryan Allen had an incredible run with two back-to-back hands. In the first, he went all in and was called by his neighbor, Michael Clacher. Allen revealed Q10, trailing Clacher’s KK.

The flop brought some hope for Allen with Q46, giving him a pair of queens but still behind Clacher's kings. The 3 turn didn’t change the situation, leaving Clacher in the lead. However, the river delivered the 10, giving Allen two pair and knocking Clacher out of the tournament.

Immediately after, Allen found himself in another all-in situation, this time holding QQ against his opponent's AQ. The queens held strong, eliminating another player and allowing Allen to nearly quintuple his stack in just two hands.

Unlucky Turn for Fhima as He Hits the Rail

Level 29 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Jonathan Fhima at previous event

Joseph Sefrna opened 350,000 in middle position and Jonathan Fhima clicked it to 580,000 on the button. The action folded back around to Sefrna and he took about 45 seconds before announcing all in. Fhima had about 1,600,000 total and snap-called as he rolled his hand face up.

Jonathan Fhima: AA All in
Joseph Sefrna: KK

It was the ultimate preflop cooler and the J54 flop changed nothing but the K turn gave Sefrna a set to take the lead as Fhima let out a loud, "No!"

The 4 river improved Sefrna to a full house as Fhima waited for his payout slip.

Sellars Makes a Set for a Double

Level 29 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
John Sellars
John Sellars

Brendon Kaufman opened 325,000 in middle position and John Sellars three-bet to 635,000 on the button, leaving just 25,000 behind. The blinds quickly folded and Kaufman moved all in. Sellars called off his 660,000 total and both hands were tossed on their backs.

John Sellars: QQ All in
Brendon Kaufman: A5

The KQ4 flop gave Sellars a set of queens to leave Kaufman drawing thin. The J turn gave Kaufman a gutshot straight draw, but the A river was no help, sending the double to Sellars.

Bognanni Scores Double Knockout

Level 29 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Remi Derossi opened 1,000,000 in the cutoff and Marco Bognanni called on the button before Maher Al Mouselly jammed his 1,655,000 into the middle from the big blind. Derossi called off his 1,090,000 and Bagnanni made the call as well.

Remi Derossi: J8 All in
Maher Al Mouselly: QQ All in
Marco Bognanni: A8

The QJ6 flop was an action one as Al Mouselly flopped a set of queens but was still behind to the flush of Bognanni. The 10 turn and 9 river meant Bognanni's flush was still good to send out both players.
