2024 World Series of Poker
On the very first hand of the day at Table 630 in Horseshoe Gold there was an all in button on the table after river action as a player was already standing up to head to the exits.
Action was retold to PokerNews.
Harlan Karnofsky raised to 500 from middle position and got four callers to see a flop of J♦6♦10♥. Karnofsky bet 1,200. Craig Issod raised to 7,000 from the small blind, which folded everyone out except Karnofsky, who called.
The turn was the 4♠. Issod led for 15,000, Karnofsky called again. The river came the A♣. Issod jammed for about 37,000, Karnofsky called and tabled the nuts with the K♦Q♦. Issod stood up and showed his beaten 6x6x set as he became one of the very first eliminations of the 2024 WSOP Main Event.
With two players seeing a final board of 6♦3♣K♣6♥8♥ and about 5,000 in the middle, James Dempsey bet 6,000 from the big blind and was called by Kyna England in the cutoff.
Dempsey tabled 8♠6♠ for a full house and dragged in a decent early pot.
Chad Eveslage had just taken his seat here on Day 1a when he went to the turn on a board of A♠K♦4♦10♦. Eveslage then bet 1,000 from the hijack and an opponent in the big blind called.
The river was the J♥ and Eveslage bet 3,000. The big blind took more than a minute before sliding his cards into the muck as Eveslage took down his first pot of the Main Event.
Justin Harvell raised from under the gun and the player on the button flatted.
The flop came 9♠4♠5♦, and Harvell continued with a bet of 1,300. The button called.
On the J♣ turn, Harvell fired out a bet of 3,400 and the button gave up his hand.
Barny Boatman opened the action with a raise to 500 from under the gun. He was called by early position, the cutoff and the big blind.
Four ways to a Q♦J♠3♣ flop and action checked around.
Boatman fired 800 on the 8♣ turn and the table mucked one by one, earning Boatman the pot and an early chip up.
Early full house!
