Ghio Surrenders a Massive Pot to Werner

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Nearly 60,000 was already in the middle as Joe Ghio and Aaron Werner went to the turn on a board of 88A4. Werner then bet 18,000 from early position and Ghio called in the small blind.

The river was the 7 and Werner bet 30,000, sending Ghio deep into the tank. "Sorry, guys," he said as the minutes ticked by. Ghio eventually folded and Werner took the massive pot without a showdown.

"Ace-queen of diamonds," tablemate Matt Salsberg said to Ghio.

"Maybe," Ghio replied.

Baker Back Above Starting

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
David Baker 'Bakes'
David Baker 'Bakes'

David "Bakes" Baker has been relatively short for much of the day but just won a large three-way pot to move back over starting stack.

Baker opened to 1,500 from middle position and was called by a player in middle position. Jane Hitchcock then three-bet to 3,300 out of the small blind, receiving calls from both of her opponents.

Hitchcock continued for 5,000 on the 778 flop but was unable to shake off either of her opponents as both Baker and the middle position player made the call.

The Q turn saw Hitchcock bet again, this time pushing 5,100 into the middle. Again, both of her opponents called.

Hitchcock slowed down following the Q river, checking to Baker who bet 15,000. The middle position player vacated the pot while Hitchcock snapped off the bet with AxAx. Baker had her beat, however, as he held 88 for the turned boat to scoop a big pot.

The river was the 9 and both players checked.

Roberts tabled 55 for a full house fives full of sevens. Raymer said "Nice catch" to give the pot to Samuels.

Michael Marder

A player opened to 1,200 in the first position, which saw a player in the small blind call and Michael Marder in the big blind call as well.

The flop of 354 saw Marder bet 1,500 when action reached him, and only the under-the-gun player called.

Marder sized up to 3,000 on the K turn and once more was called.

On the river 4, Marder bet 10,000, and his opponent went into the tank. After some thought, his opponent folded, and the WSOPC ring winner took the pot down without showdown.

Argelazi Loses a Huge Pot to Quads

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Eliran Argelazi just approached PokerNews about a hand where he lost roughly two-thirds of his chips.

As reported by Argelazi, he said that he called a raise from the small blind versus an open from the hijack. The big blind called as well and they went to the flop three-ways.

The flop came Jx54 and the action checked the the hijack. He bet 2,000 and was met by a check-raise to 8,000 by Argelazi. The big blind folded but the hijack made the call.

The turn came the J and the action checked through for a 4x to come on the river.

Algelazi fired out 5,000 and was met by a raise all in of 55,000 by his opponent. Aegelazi snap-called and flipped over AJ for a full house. However, somehow this was second best to the 4x4x of his opponent for quads.
