Matusow Flops a Set, Doesn't Get Paid

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

James Sgro opened to 5,000 from middle position and then called after Mike Matusow three-bet to 12,000 out of the small blind.

Matusow continued for 15,000 following the Q9J flop. Sgro thought for a while before deciding to lay down his hand and was rewarded with some good news from Matusow as he flipped over QQ for the flopped set, telling Sgro that he had opted for a large sizing as he thought his opponent held jacks for a lower set.

The under-the-gun player opened 3,000 and David Siegel defended the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of 522 and Siegel check-called a bet of 2,000.

The 6 turn and the K river were checked down and Siegel tabled JJ to take the pot.

Momentum For Kingstone

Action was joined on the river with the board reading 74JJ5 and a pot that had about 21,000 in it. From the small blind, big stack Chongxian Yang fired 13,000. Max Kingstone was under the gun raised to 43,000, leaving himself only one big blind behind. Yang thought for about a minute before he folded.

The next hand Jason Hill raised from early position, Max Kingstone three-bet from big blind, Hill jammed is shorter stack and Kingstone called.

The board ran out J4875 and Hill was gone as Kingstone added more to his stack.

Harmon's Flop Lead Takes it Down

From the small blind, Carol Harmon had called a raise preflop from Naoya Kihara.

Harmon led out for 10,000 on the 2J7 flop and Kihara thought it over briefly before showing AQ as he folded.

Jaka Bombs the River

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Action was picked up on the flop with a board showing 1082 with about 11,000 in the pot.

After the flop a player in early position checked to Faraz Jaka on the button, who also checked to see a turn.

Once the K on the turn hit, Jaka's opponent bet 3,000, and Jaka made the call to see a river,

The K on the river completed the board, and the player in early position checked to Jaka, who over the bet the pot, firing out 20,000. After spending over a minute debating his decision, the player in early position mucked his hand and gave the pot to Jaka.

Hanelin Busts One

A short stack moved all-in for the last 16,000 and Michael Hanelin reshoved to force out everyone else.

The player at risk tabled the AJ and was up against Hanelin with the AQ. On a board of 104267, the kicker played and Hanelin claimed the pot.
