On the heads-up turn of K1094, Hugues Girard checked over to Chun Li on the button who made it 68,000 to go. That pretty much covered the remaining stack of Girard, who went deep into the tank before folding.

Marder Dodges Bullets; Busts Next Hand

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Michael Marder
Michael Marder

Michael Marder opened 3,000 under the gun and Benjamin Pollak put in a three-bet to 7,000 from a couple of spots to his left. The action folded back around to Marder and he thought about it for a few moments before saving his remaining 13,000. Pollak let him know it was a good fold by flashing AA.

The following hand, Pollak opened 3,500 and Veerab Zakarian called in the cutoff before Marder defended the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of 654 and Marder jammed his last 8,000. Pollak quickly got out of the way and Zakarian snap-called.

Michael Marder: A3 All in
Veerab Zakarian: 87

Marder flopped an open-ended straight draw but Zakarian had already flopped the nut straight. The K turn and 2 river improved him to a flush as Marder left the table.

Chan Drills the River to Double

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Johnn Chan was heads-up from the cutoff against a lone player in the big blind on a flop of 546.

It was checked to Chan and he shoved for approximately 23,000 total. His opponent called after a bit of deliberation and a showdown was held.

Johnny Chan: AJAll in
Opponent: Q4

Chan was in trouble and had one foot out the door on the 6 turn, however, the J river bailed Chan out — pairing his jack for the much-needed double up.
