Melanson Gets the Triple

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Harlan Penn opened 70,000 in middle position and Paul Mattioda called on the button before Dustin Melanson came along in the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of 543 and Melanson fired 100,000. Both Penn and Mattioda made the call.

The 6 hit the turn and Melanson moved in for his last 5,000, and both players tossed in a chip to call.

When the 2 landed on the river, neither player made a bet and Melanson rolled Q764 for a flopped straight. Penn tabled AKK9 and Mattioda tossed his cards face down. The dealer let Mattioda know all hands must be tabled and she quickly flashed his hand before pushing the pot to Melanson.
