In what was intended to be a conversation about a slew of near misses over his career, Michael Rocco flipped the script when he revealed that the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) would be his last full series for many years.

And the reason why he'll be reducing his volume at the tables may come as a bit of a shock.

During a break in Event #94: $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em Championship, he told PokerNews that he has acquired a farm in the last year, and intends to shift his focus to that venture over his card-playing exploits.

Savevski Rakes in Another Massive Pot as Levy Missteps

Two players saw the A♦A♠7♠ flop, and Ben Levy was in the big blind and check-called a bet of 300,000 from Ilija Savevski on the button.

The 8♦ fell on the turn, and Levy checked before Savevski fired 600,000. Levy check-jammed for about 3,000,000 and Savevski snap-called.

Ilija Savevski: A♥K♠

"Dammit, the one mistake I made all tournament," a frustrated Levy said as he stood up from the table, "Just got it in dead."

The board completed with the J♥ on the river as Levy walked away from the table.

After Dean Ruan limped from under the gun, Alex Milgrom in the cutoff raised to 650,000 and he was called by both Manoj Batavia in the small blind and Ruan.

On a board 8♣A♦10♦, Batavia led out for 2,000,000. Ruan then moved all-in for 2,600,000, and Milgrom went deep into the tank. He eventually folded. "How much is it?" Batavia asked before making the call.

Manoj Batavia: 9♦9♥

Ruan hit two pair with the 7♣ turn, so he doubled up after the 2♣.

Adam Levine opened from an early position to 650,000 and the button moved all in for a large stack. Levine didn't take too long to find a fold, but showed his A♠J♣.

A few hands later, Marc Rivera raised from the hijack to 400,000 and got a call from the small blind. Avi Cohen also defended the big blind.

The flop came 10♦10♥3♣ and all players checked to the K♣.

The blinds checked and Rivera bet 475,000. The small blind folded and Cohen found a call.

The players, now heads up, saw the 6♠ river. Cohen checked and
Rivera bet 850,000. Cohen took some time before folding.

Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.

In the 12th episode, Connor speaks with actress and conservationist Shannon Elizabeth on the 25th anniversary of American Pie, in which she played the iconic role of Nadia. Elizabeth talked about her roles in films like Scary Movie and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, playing poker with the cast of That '70s Show, finishing third in the 2007 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship and taking part in Phil Hellmuth's 2024 WSOP Main Event entrance.

Elizabeth also spoke about her conservation efforts in South Africa through the Shannon Elizabeth Foundation, including caring for and providing a sanctuary for a blind black rhino named Munu.

Action was caught on the flop of K♥K♠4♥. Chang bet 275,000 into a pot of around 1,500,000 from the cutoff and Pihela called in the big blind.

The turn was the 9♣. Pihela checked and Chang put a stack of blues in the middle for around 2,000,000. Without thinking for too long, Pihela declared all in, which was for just under 4,000,000 total. Chang called and had Pihela covered.

Both players flopped trip kings, but Chang’s kicker played. There were some chop outs for Pihela and three sixes for the win, but the river was the 7♦ and Pihela was eliminated.
