Hafner's Run Ends as Wilklow Bags a Bounty

Level 36 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Michael Wilklow opened to 1,200,000 from early position and when it got to Astivan Batoo in the small blind, he put in an extra 400,000 thinking he was limping in. The dealer informed him there was a raise in front of him and offered the choice of folding or putting in the extra.

"Can I raise?" asked Batoo. The dealer denied his request and he eventually folded. Lukas Hafner was in the big blind and with just under 13,000,000 in his stack, he shoved. Wilklow took a few seconds before he called with a covering stack.

Lukas Hafner: 44 All in
Michael Wilklow: 1010

Hafner was looking for a four, but couldn't find one as the 27758 runout meant his tournament life sailed away at the hands of Wilklow.

Lukas Hafner raised to 1,100,000 from middle position to be re-raised to 3,000,000 by Davis Aalvik on his immediate left. Hafner was ready to play for it all re-raising to ~6,000,000 and was beaten into the middle by Aalvik.

Lukas Hafner: KK
Davis Aalvik: AQ

No ace from space for Aalvik as the board ran out KQ61010 and Hafner secured himself a crucial double-up to save his tournament life late in day two.

Strelitz Pushes Johnson Out of Pot

Level 35 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Chase Johnson opened for 1,500,000 under the gun and got called by Daniel Strelitz in the big blind.

The flop came 682 and Strelitz check-raised to 3,500,000 after Johnson bet 1,600,000. Johnson took a few seconds to consider his options with only 6,000,000 behind. He decided to surrender both his hand and the pot to Strelitz.

Trayner Flops a Pair

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Malcolm Trayner
Malcolm Trayner

Malcolm Trayner and Noam Muallem, at risk, were all-in in a heads-up showdown.

Noam Muallem: KQ All in
Malcolm Trayner: QJ

Although ahead preflop, Muallem lost his lead when Trayner spiked a pair on the J23 flop. Still with minimal outs, the runout of 76 didn't improve his hand ending his tournament run and giving Trayner his bounty.

Double Up for Yaginuma

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Tuan Pham
Tuan Pham

Jesse Yaginuma moved all in from middle position for 1,650,000 and was called by Tuan Pham in the big blind.

Jesse Yaginuma: A3 All in
Tuan Pham: 96

A pretty safe flop for Yaginuma of 10A8 and with the 3 coming on the turn and the 3 on the river there was a bit of overkill with him hitting a boat on the river!

Gutierrez Beats the Clock and an Opponent

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Jose Fernando Garcia Gutierrez studied long and hard — long enough for the clock to be called on him — before three-betting the pot all-in for 7.65 million chips.

Demarco Howard, who had three times as many chips made the call.

Jose Fernand Garcia Gutierrez: AQAll in
Demarco Howard: 88

Howard's pair of eights held through the flop of K39, but Gutierrez let out a loud yelp when the A came on the turn. After the 10 landed on the river, Gutierrez' pair of aces were good enough for him to more than double his chips.

Rife Runs Into Zhong's Queens

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Weizheng Zhong opened from middle position and Caleb Rife shipped in his stack of around 12,000,000 from the small blind. Zhong quickly called.

Caleb Rife: 99 All in
Weizheng Zhong: QQ

Rife had run into it and needed a lot of help from the board in order to stay alive. The 826 flop wasn't what he needed and the 3 turn left him with one shot at two outs. A 5 river didn't change anything, which meant Rife was sidelined as Zhong's stack grew to almost 30,000,000.

Noam Muallem: AJ

Lovely River for Marks

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Robert Keating moved all in for 650,000 from late position and Eric Revak three bet to 2,000,000 from the small blind. Michael Marks then decided to come over the top and announced all in for 4,500,000. Revak called.

Robert Keating: 6x6x All in
Michael Marks: Ax9x All in
Eric Revak: QK

Marks was pretty happy to see the flop of 779 but then distraught when the turn brought the K to put Revak ahead with top pair.

But then the miracle 9 fell on the river to give Marks trips and a full double up and more, plus send Keating to the rail and claim a bounty.
