Day 1c Completed
Day 1c of Event #1: $1,000 Mystery Millions here at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) was the busiest flight yet, with 2,995 players starting their quest for glory. After 22 levels, only 153 of those players who started with high hopes had survived the night. They bagged up their chips and headed out of the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, knowing they were still in the hunt for a $1 million mystery bounty payout.
Josh Reichard finished second on the night courtesy of bagging and tagging 2,675,000 chips at the close of play. Reichard is still looking for his first WSOP bracelet, although he has 16 WSOP Circuit rings. Could this be the event in which Reichard wins more poker gold?
Brad Laakso finished Day 1c with 3,550,000, which is enough to lead the event overall.
Several bracelet winners and 25K Fantasy Draft picks progressed from this flight. Valentino Konakchiev (2,330,000), Craig Varnell (1,390,000), Brad Ruben (1,340,000), Phil Hui (900,000), and Brock Wilson (190,000) were among them.
Day 1d, the penultimate flight, starts at 10 a.m. local time on Friday, May 30. There should be more than 3,000 players who choose Day 1d to start their quest for glory.

Michael Moncek has gained a reputation for being one of the most entertaining poker players to watch, and "Texas Mike" is living up to that distinction at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP).
Moncek, who infamously lost over $2.2 million last summer in the Hustler Casino Live Million Dollar Game, made a risky move in Day 1c of the $1,000 Mystery Millions as he multi-tabled $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em, which he ended up cashing alongside his brother, Tyler Moncek.
Ready to head back to the bigger buy-in event, Michael Moncek moved all in blind only to run into four monster hands behind him.
In the hand, which Texas Mike posted to X, Moncek held 8♣6♥ as the players behind him consecutively showed J♣J♦, Q♥Q♣, K♣K♥ and A♥A♠.
The madness didn't end there. The dealer fanned a 5♣K♦5♠ flop to give the player with kings a boat for a quadruple knockout.
Life Outside Poker is a podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
In the 28th episode, Connor talks with Canadian high-stakes pro Sam Greenwood about getting into poker with his two brothers Lucas Greenwood and Max Greenwood, running up a bankroll in high school, traveling the world playing high-stakes tournaments, climbing Canada's all-time money list and battling with Vladimir "Gambledore" Korzinin at Triton.
Greenwood also talked about the state of online poker, how to deal with cheaters, being a dad and his new "Punt of the Day" blog where he breaks down key hands from high-stakes tournaments.
The Life Outside Poker podcast is available on major streaming platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, SoundCloud and iHeartRadio. You can also watch the interview with Sam Greenwood by heading to the PokerNews YouTube channel.
