Vu Falls For Parent Trap

Jacob Parent pushed all in with 160,000 chips from the cutoff with the flop reading: 48J.

Timothy Vu, in the big blind, studied the hand so long that the talkative Parent went silent and eventually the clock was requested.

Before the floor reached the table, Vu called.

Each had a pair of jacks, but Parent had the better kicker. And his nine played with the turn and river being K10.

Phil Gross jammed from the hijack and had the remaining players covered. It folded to the big blind of Matthew Johnson, who shipped it for 168,000 to be at risk.

Zhang Continues the Spin-up

Tianhang Zhang was forced all in on the small blind for his final 3,000, having to beat Aliaksandr Shylko to stay alive. His A8 held against the A6 of Shylko to keep him alive.

Just two hands later, he stalled on a pay jump from the cutoff, before flatting the big blind with a few seconds left. Alec Weller put him all in, and he was given just five seconds this time, before making the call.

Action was folded to Adam Saven on the button, who raised to 25,000, only for Derek Normand in the small blind to three-bet to 72,000. Action folded back around to Saven, who moved all-in for 269,000. Normand made the call.

Harold Evans raised from late position to 20,000 and action folded to Hiroyuki Tane on the button, who three-bet all-in for 277,000. John La, in the small blind, went deep into the tank before he folded his cards. Evans made the call and was at risk.

Just before the flop was dealt out, La announced that he folded ace-king. The dealer then proceeded to roll off 38A as the flop to send Evans into the lead. No help for Tane on the J turn nor the 5 river, and Evans was pushed the massive pot.
