Vu Falls For Parent Trap

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Jacob Parent pushed all in with 160,000 chips from the cutoff with the flop reading: 48J.

Timothy Vu, in the big blind, studied the hand so long that the talkative Parent went silent and eventually the clock was requested.

Before the floor reached the table, Vu called.

Jacob Parent: J9All in
Timothy Vu: J7

Each had a pair of jacks, but Parent had the better kicker. And his nine played with the turn and river being K10.

"Why did you look so nervous?" Vu asked. " That's why I called."

Rod Fani and Zhaken Seitbekov got it all in before any community cards were dealt, with Fani button-shoving over Zhaken Seitbekov under the gun raise. Seitbekov had the chip advantage, but was behind as far as percentages were concerned.

Rod Fani: AK All in

Phil Gross
Phil Gross

Timothy Vu raised to 32,000 from under the gun, and action folded to Ronald Jackson in late position, who moved all-in for 36,000. Phil Gross made the call from the button, and Vu tossed in the extra 4,000

The flop came KJ5, and Vu continued for 16,000, which Gross called. Both players checked the 4 turn and saw the 9 fall on the river. Vu checked, and Gross fired out for 32,000. Vu made the call and tabled K10 for top pair, which had Gross' 6x7x crushed and sent Jackson to the rail with his AQ going into the muck.
