Allan Le raised to 55,000 from under the gun, leaving himself with just 10,000 chips behind. Bryce Yockey was next to act and made it 110,000. Robert Cowen flat-called from the big blind and Le stuck in his last 10,000 chips.
The flop came J♦4♠4♣ and Cowen check-called a bet of 100,000 from Yockey. The turn brought the 10♦ and Cowen check-called another bet of 350,000 this time.
The river was the 3♦ and Cowen checked one last time. Yockey announced all in and Cowen snap-called his last 370,000. Yockey showed A♠10♣ for two pair but Cowen held J♠J♥ for a full house. Le was nowehere close to beating either hand with A♥9♦ and was eliminated on the stone bubble.
Cherish Andrews was left with a single 5,000 chip in front of her, thanks in part to the structure change made at the beginning of the level. The actual structure indicated a 40,000 big blind ante for no-limit hold'em, but as per recent levels played, players noted that they were supposed to be playing with a 35,000 big blind ante (small blind + big blind).
David Coleman slid his 260,000 chips into the middle from the cutoff two away from the money. Ben Tollerene called from the big blind.
David Coleman: 8♣8♦
Ben Tollerene: A♥J♦
The runout of Q♥J♣4♥6♣3♠ improved Tollerene and was the demise of Coleman. The players are now on the stone bubble, one elimination away from a min-cash of $50,829.
Another roar of excitement/dismay erupted at Table 666, mainly in part because Jared Bleznick had just been eliminated. A board of A♥7♦7♥ was spread across the felt with Bleznick at risk against Brandon Mitchell.
All of the chips went into the middle before the flop and Bleznick tabled A♠A♦4♦3♦. Mitchell flipped over K♦Q♠J♦7♠ and the flop hit both players, although Mitchell was drawing to just one out.
The dealer wasted no time in turning over the 7♣ on the turn which flew Bleznick out of his seat.
"My only tournament of the summer!" Bleznick shouted in disbelief. "You gotta see this!"
The insignificant Q♣ completed the board and Bleznick headed to the rail just prior to the money bubble, leaving Mitchell with heaps of chips.
Nacho Barbero kicked things off with a raise to 70,000 in early position. Richard Green flat-called in the cutoff and Brandon Mitchell three-bet to 220,000 out of the big blind. Both Barbero and Green called to see a flop of 7♠4♣3♣.
Mitchell checked the flop and Barbero piled all in for 525,000. Green reshoved all in for 1,385,000 and Mitchell asked for a count before making the call.
Nacho Barbero: A♦8♥7♦6♥
Richard Green: Q♣Q♦8♣5♥
Brandon Mitchell: A♠A♣J♥2♣
"You have to have aces with clubs here," Jared Bleznick said as Mitchell rolled over his hand. "You played it perfectly, you're gonna scoop!"
The turn was the A♥ which gave Mitchell a stranglehold on the hand. The 8♦ on the river did not complete any straights and Mitchell scored the double knockout to become the new chip leader.
Pot-Limit Omaha
Cherish Andrews opened with a raise to 40,000. Tyler Moncek called, and so did Robert Cowen from the button, before Bryce Yockey reraised to 206,000 from the big blind. Andrews folded, but Moncek agreed and moved his chips into the middle. Cowen got out of the way, but Yockey made the call.
Tyler Moncek: A♣A♥J♥4♥
Bryce Yockey: K♣K♥8♦8♥
The K♦9♠2♠ flop gave Yockey a set, and the K♠ turn gave him quads, leaving Moncek drawing dead. The inconsequential 9♦ came on the river, and Moncek hit the rail.
We picked up the action on the flop with 60,000 in the middle as Fabrizio Gonzalez bet 40,000 from the big blind on K♦5♠3♣. In the hijack, Eric Wasserson raised to 180,000. Youness Barakat folded from the cutoff after using a few time banks, and action was back on Gonzalez. He decided to go all-in for 150,000 more and was beaten into the middle by Wasserson.
Fabrizio Gonzalez: 7♠7♣3♦3♥
Eric Wasserson: K♠K♥6♣5♣
On the 4♠10♠ runout, it was curtains for Gonzalez as he was sent to the rail.
