Brandon Mitchell ran rampant on the field today, winning back-to-back massive pots to end the day as the chip leader. With $650,000 in live tournament earnings, Mitchell has a chance to triple that number with a win in this event.

Others still in the hunt include Michael Moncek (5,050,000), Ben Tollerene (2,955,000), Ben Lamb (2,715,000), Nick Schulman (2,500,000), Robert Cowen (1,865,000), Arthur Morris (715,000), Eric Wasserson (435,000), and Shaun Deeb (225,000).

A plethora of big names could not survive this very difficult test. Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Scott Seiver, Chance Kornuth, Artur Martirosian, Dan Zack, Sean Winter, Jason Koon, Dan Smith, and the Day 1 chip leader Stephen Chidwick all busted during Day 2 play.

Jason Koon
Jason Koon

A short-stacked Jason Koon got the rest of his 190,000 stack in pre-flop versus Arthur Morris.

Jason Koon: QJ All in
Arthur Morris: 22

The flop was less than ideal for Koon, coming down 10Q2, but the 7 gave him hope.

Alas, the 7 river gave his opponent a full house and sent him to the rail.

Allan Le Busts on the Bubble, Andrews Survives with One Chip

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Allan Le
Allan Le

No-Limit Hold'em

Allan Le raised to 55,000 from under the gun, leaving himself with just 10,000 chips behind. Bryce Yockey was next to act and made it 110,000. Robert Cowen flat-called from the big blind and Le stuck in his last 10,000 chips.

The flop came J44 and Cowen check-called a bet of 100,000 from Yockey. The turn brought the 10 and Cowen check-called another bet of 350,000 this time.

The river was the 3 and Cowen checked one last time. Yockey announced all in and Cowen snap-called his last 370,000. Yockey showed A10 for two pair but Cowen held JJ for a full house. Le was nowehere close to beating either hand with A9 and was eliminated on the stone bubble.

Cherish Andrews was left with a single 5,000 chip in front of her, thanks in part to the structure change made at the beginning of the level. The actual structure indicated a 40,000 big blind ante for no-limit hold'em, but as per recent levels played, players noted that they were supposed to be playing with a 35,000 big blind ante (small blind + big blind).
