Sternheimer Doubles Through Zack

Level 14

Pot-Limit Omaha

Gus Hansen limped the hijack, Jonathan Krela limped the cutoff, Philip Sternheimer limped the button, Daniel Zack completed the small blind, and Allan Le checked his option in the big blind.

On the 962 flop, the action checked to Sternheimer who bet 12,000 and was called by Zack and Le.

The turn brought the A. Zack opted to lead for pot of 60,000, Le folded, and Sternheimer counted out his chips before he announced all-in for 139,000. Zack immediately asked how much more it was and took off his hood, clearly pained by the decision. After a minute, Zack tossed in the chips to call.

Philip Sternheimer: QQ99 All in
Daniel Zack: Q422

It was a set over set cooler with Sternheimer having the best of it as he faded the one-outer on the J river to double.

Huck Seed

Every summer, a legend that the poker world hasn't seen in quite some time pops up at the World Series of Poker (WSOP). This year, that individual is Huck Seed, the 1996 world champion.

PokerNews caught up with the Poker Hall of Famer to find out why he's back in the game after nearly a decade away, and to see if he thinks he can hang with the new-school pros. Seed, prior to the interview, ran into and shared a wholesome embrace with his old pal and fellow poker legend Gus Hansen inside the Horseshoe Events Center. The two hadn't seen each other in a while.
