Dominated and Defeated

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Justin Heilman open-shoved all-in for 26,000 from middle position. When action folded around to Glenn Sorrells in late position, he went deep into the tank before eventually jamming over the top for 32,000.

Immediately to his left, Tonya Lastoskie had only 12,000 behind and looked visibly frustrated with the situation. She threw her hands up multiple times in exasperation before finally mucking her cards, leaving the two gentlemen to battle heads-up.

Justin Heilman: AK All in
Glenn Sorrells: KQ

Sorrells, dominated preflop, could only shake his head as the cards were tabled. The flop came K43, keeping Heilman well ahead with top pair-top kicker. The 73 runout changed nothing, and Heilman scored the double-up, leaving Sorrells with little under four big-blinds

On her feet as she watched the hand, Lastoskie breathed a sigh of relief, happy she avoided the spot and lived to fight another hand.

Woodside Bows Down to Pham Heat

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Richard Schmitt opened to 1,500 from middle position and was met with a three-bet to 5,000 by Nikki Woodside in late position. Immediately to her left, Steven Nguyen Pham ramped up the pressure with a sizable four-bet to 13,000, putting the action back on Schmitt.

After a moment in the tank, Schmitt elected to fold. Woodside, unfazed, quickly made the call, taking the hand heads-up to the flop.

The dealer spread A54. Woodside checked while locking eyes with Pham, perhaps searching for a read. But Pham remained expressionless as he fired out a bet of 11,000. After a brief pause, Woodside gave up the hand, and Pham dragged the pot without showing a card.

Thanh Ngo: J10 All in
John Tumbas: AK

Ngo was ahead with top pair and just had to fade Tumbas' overcards to survive. The 10 turn gave Ngo trips, guaranteeing she would double-up. The 7 hit the river, and the majority of Tumbas' stack was sent over to Ngo.

Lane's Jack Eliminates Vessey

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Action was picked up with all the chips in the middle and two players at risk — John Lane and Lisa Vessey.

Lisa Vessey: A8 All in
John Lane: JJ

Lane was already ahead with his jacks preflop, and the 776 flop kept him firmly in the lead with no ace in sight. Vessey was still hoping to spike an ace, but the Q turn changed nothing. The 5 river sealed her fate, eliminating her from the tournament as Lane scooped the pot.
