Welcome back to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2025 World Series of Poker and home of live updates from all bracelet events.

Event #20: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout is one of the more unique events on the 2025 WSOP schedule, and also one of the most popular. WSOP warns that flights could be capped based on table availability, so it's a good idea to get to the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas sooner rather than later if you plan to play this event.

The event features two flights on Day 1. Flight A starts at 12 p.m. local time, with Flight B starting at 5 p.m. Both have a maximum of three 40-minute levels of late registration, although either or both flights could sell out. The format is unique but simple. Players must win their table to advance to the next round, similar to a winner-take-all sit-and-go tournament.

Players who progress from Flight A and Flight B combine at 1 p.m. on June 5. They continue battling on nine-handed tables, with the winner of each table punching their Day 3 tickets. Day 3 is scheduled for June 6; watch this space for the restart time.

Daniel Sepiol is the reigning champion, having outlasted 1,533 opponents at the 2024 WSOP. Sepiol scooped $305,849 only six months after helping himself to almost $5.3 million in the 2023 WPT World Championship. Amazingly, Sepiol came back from a 17-to-1 chip disadvantage to defeat Robert Natividad heads up and become a WSOP champion.

"It feels amazing, man. I've been chasing a bracelet for years now, and it feels great," replied a jovial Sepiol when asked how he felt after winning his first bracelet.

Sepiol had to delay any celebrations he had planned because he wanted to play more bracelet events.

"Too much poker to celebrate. I'll play the $25k tomorrow, that's about it."
