Choffardet Wins at Table #218

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Day 1b Level 8 600/1200, 1200 ante

Table #210 was one of the first tables that went to a heads-up match but only reached a winner after four levels with other tables finishing sooner than they did.

The final hand happened with Alex Kim betting 3,000 on the button and getting raised all-in by Mathieu Choffardet. With only about 24,000 behind, Kim made the call.

Alex Kim: AQ All in
Mathieu Choffardet: 1010

Kim needed one of his overcards to hit to stay longer in the tournament and based on what has happened between these two players for the past four hours, it wasn't impossible. But the board ran 73399 finally ending their long one-on-one battle in Choffardet's favor.

Choffardet was relating how the table was full of aggressive players that made them go to heads-up early in the tournament but once two were left, the chips kept changing hands between them.

"He had a big lead at the start but I had a lot of good spots where I grinded him. I had the nuts all the time so it was easy. I really like this format and I'm looking forward to the next round. "
