Huge Boost for Moskowitz as Turner Departs

Level 12
David Moskowitz
David Moskowitz

Jon Turner: 10AJ / 1028K All in
David Moskowitz JJXx / 427Xx
Arthur Morris: AQ4 / 9239
Hal Rotholz: XxXx / 6 - folded on third street

Hal Rotholz completed, and Arthur Morris called. Jon Turner raised before David Moskowitz three-bet on his immediate left. Rotholz folded, but Morris and Turner stuck around.

On fourth street, Turner checked, Moskowitz bet, and Morris called. Turner then raised to put himself all-in. Moskowitz raised again, leaving himself with one big bet behind. Morris called.

On fifth street, Moskowitz put in his last chips, and Morris called again.

When the cards were tabled, Moskowitz had jacks in the hole for the best hand. Turner had a pair of tens, and Morris had just ace-high.

Neither Morris nor Turner could improve as the final cards hit the felt, and Moskowitz's pair of jacks was good for the pot and bust out.

Michael Lavin
Michael Lavin

ClubWPT Gold, a new sweeps coin poker site, offered up a juicy promotion, giving qualifying players a shot to earn $1 million on top of a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet victory. The odds of winning said promo, before the series began, seemed about as likely as Martin Kabrhel being silenced.

Michael Lavin proved again on Friday that improbable does not mean impossible when he took down Event #20: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em SHOOTOUT for $267,373, beating out 1,299 entrants. But that isn't the main story.

Momentum with McCormick

Level 12
Tom McCormick
Tom McCormick

Tom McCormick: K73x / 33K2
Eric Wasserson: XxXx / JQ9 - folded on fifth street
Jon Turner: XxXxXx / 77108

Action was caught on fifth street, with around 30,000 in the middle.

Jon Turner, with a pair of sevens on his board, bet. Tom McCormick, who had threes showing called. Eric Wasserson was the third player in the hand, and after some thought, returned his cards to the dealer.

Turner bet on sixth street, and then called when McCormick raised. Turner checked on seventh street, and then had a pained looked on his face when McCormick threw in another 10,000 into the pot. Turner couldn't let his hand go, and put in calling chips.

"Three's full," announced McCormick, who tabled his K73x down cards. Turner couldn't beat that, and the pot went to his opponent.

Aaron Kupin: KJ10 / 5989 All in
Tom McCormick: J93 / J475

On the next hand, Aaron Kupin called before McCormick raised. The action folded back to Kupin, who called.

Kupin called a bet on fourth street, before raising on fifth street. McCormick stuck around and called Kupin's bet on sixth street. Once the final down cards had been dealt, Kupin put in his last 1,000 and was quickly called.

Kupin could only show the pair of nines on his board, while McCormick had a pair of jacks, which was enough to seal the pot and eliminate Kupin.

Robert Wells: XxXxXx / J77K
Chino Rheem: XxXxXx / Q4A5 - folded on seventh street

Action was caught on fifth street, with around 50,000 in the pot in a hand between Robert Wells and Chino Rheem.

With a pair of sevens on his board, Wells bet and was called by Rheem. The same action followed on sixth street.

After the players received their final down card, Wells fired out another bet. Rheem thought briefly before conceding the pot.

"Ooooo you f******..." said Rheem as Wells collected the pot. "How many times have you bluffed me?" he asked.

Wells pondered, looking up to the ceiling. Rheem quickly chimed in, "Oh my god, you're counting!" which received a few laughs from the table.
