Level 17
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu: AA / 6A3K / 9 All in
Qiang Xu: K10 / JQJ3 / 7

Qiang Xu completed before he exchanged raises with Daniel Negreanu that saw the latter all-in for his last 54,000.

Negreanu woke up with aces, which improved to trips on fourth street. Xu picked up some outs with an open-ender but Negreanu held out to book the late night double.

Kid Poker then broke out into a rendition of "Daniel Negreanu, the man, the myth, the legend." Nick Guagenti joined in on the sing-song, as did a couple of rail birds.

Yueqi Zhu completed out of his short stack, and Qiang Xu, who was the bring-in, called.

Zhu put in his last 13,0000 on fourth street and Xu called to put the former at risk.

Zhu was ahead with king-high but needed to improve after Xu picked up an ace on fifth street. Xu improved to a pair of sevens on sixth street to take a firm lock on the hand. Zhu's board rounded out with a queen, which provided no help, and he was eliminated in 14th place.

Action was picked up on fifth as Sternheimer called a bet from Matusow. Matusow opted to check-call on sixth after making open nines.

On seventh, Matusow checked to Sternheimer who fired out a bet and Matusow reluctantly called.

"One pair of eights," announced Sternheimer as Matusow windmilled his hole cards into the middle.

"They keep trying to rob me Daniel!" Matusow yelled across to the other table.

Matusow continued his tirade, "You can't bluff me for one bet, stop trying!"

Matusow had two pair, queens and nines, and made the right call on the end that was, in his opinion, quite heroic.
