Brannan Building

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

After Frank Brannan raised from the button, Kai Cohen re-raised to 15,000 and Brannan called.

The flop came A109 and Cohen check-called the 10,000 chip bet from Brannan.

A similar story on the turn 2, as Cohen check-called the 20,000 chip bet from Brannan.

Action went check check on the Q river.

How WSOP Champ Beat Improbable Odds to Win a $1 Million Bonus Check

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Michael Lavin
Michael Lavin

ClubWPT Gold, a new sweeps coin poker site, offered up a juicy promotion, giving qualifying players a shot to earn $1 million on top of a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet victory. The odds of winning said promo, before the series began, seemed about as likely as Martin Kabrhel being silenced.

Michael Lavin proved again on Friday that improbable does not mean impossible when he took down Event #20: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em SHOOTOUT for $267,373, beating out 1,299 entrants. But that isn't the main story.

Weng Empties the Clip

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Fabiano Kovalski raised to 4,500 sitting in middle position. Bin Weng called from the cutoff and Jovan Kenjic called from the button.

The flop came QJ6 and Kovalski checked, Weng bet 9,000, Kenjic folded, and Kovalski called.

When the turn came the 3, Kovalski check-called the 32,500 chip bet from Weng.

On the 4 river, Kovalski checked once again, and Weng announced all-in. This forced Kovalski to decide for his remaining ~100,000 chips and his tournament life. He released his hand.

Schutten Gets There vs Foxen

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Brek Schutten
Brek Schutten

On a flop of 7810, Brek Schutten bet 9,000 from early position and Alex Foxen raised to roughly 25,000 from the button. Schutten jammed for 82,000, which Foxen snap-called.

Brek Schutten: 65 All in
Alex Foxen: 108

It was an action flop, as Foxen flopped top two pair against the straight flush draw of Schutten. The Q hit the turn, and the 4 landed on the river, improving Schutten to a straight to win the pot.

Trips No Good for O'Connell

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With the full board reading K910610 Drew O'Connell had bet out for 21,000, only for Justin Saliba to move all-in over the top for 159,500.

O'Connell took his time but eventually called, showing A10 for rivered trips, which was no good against Saliba's 99 for a flopped set and rivered full house, and O'Connell was sent to the rail.
