Willie Smith had his stack of around 1,150,000 in the middle from the hijack and was put at risk by Calvin Anderson in the small blind.
Willie Smith: A♣Q♥
Calvin Anderson: Q♦Q♣
Smith was way behind and didn't improve on the 5♣6♥J♣ flop. However, the A♥ on the turn was exactly what he was looking for and left him one card away from a double-up. Anderson only had one out, but couldn't find it as the 4♠ rolled off, earning Smith some much-needed chips.
Calvin Anderson raised from late position to 220,000 only for Qingyu Lu to three-bet all in from the big blind for 2,300,000. Anderson snap called.
Qingyu Lu: A♣5♣
Calvin Anderson: 10♥10♦
The flop came 3♣9♦10♠ and gave Anderson a set, but when the 7♣ came on the river, it gave Lu some hope of staying alive. The 3♦ however, fell on the river to fill up Anderson and send Lu to the rail.
Table #610 has been active and there was just a five-way pot and an elimination in the space of two hands.
First, Rostyslav Sabishchenko raised to 250,000 from under the gun and got called by Oliver Tot in the cutoff, Nicholas Naughton on the button, Easton Oreman in the small blind, and Vincent Dale in the big blind.
The A♣6♦7♥ flop was checked through and Oreman led for 1,325,000 on the 10♦ turn. Everybody else folded.
In the very next hand, Caroline Schallock shoved for 230,000 from under the gun and Dale potted from the small blind to isolate.
Caroline Schallock: J♠J♣9♣3♥
Vincent Dale: A♣K♣K♦5♥
Schallock was way behind with her pocket jacks and found no help on the 7♥6♦6♣9♦8♦ runout, which meant she was eliminated.
The action was folded around to David Robayochurque in the small blind, who pushed all in and had Khaled Aljoma covered in the big blind. Aljoma called.
Khaled Aljoma: A♦4♥
David Robayochurque: K♣8♠
A nasty flop of 8♣J♠5♥ for Aljoma saw Robayochurque take the lead with a pair of eights, but the 2♠ gave Aljoma some additional outs, but when the 7♣ bricked out on the river, he was eliminated and sent to the rail.
Frank Lin raised to 200,000 in the cutoff and was called by Samuel Taylor in the small blind and Kevin Varnier in the big blind.
The flop rolled out 3♠4♦9♥ and Taylor bet 75,000 to put both players all in. After multiple clock calls, Varnier was all in for his last 75,000 and Lin his last 5,000.
Frank Lin: K♦J♣J♦10♦
Kevin Varnier: A♠A♦Q♥6♠
Samuel Taylor: Q♠9♠7♥3♣
Lin spiked the turn J♥ and held up on the river 4♠ to scoop the main pot to triple up, while Varnier survived in the side pot with aces up.
