Welcome back to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2025 World Series of Poker and home of live updates from all bracelet events.

Can you believe that the 2025 WSOP is almost one-third of the way done? Time flies when you're having fun. There will be plenty of fun today in Event #28: $600 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em & Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack (Eight Handed), which gets underway at 10:00 a.m. local time. Despite the fact that around 3,000 entrants are expected at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, this is only a two-day event.

Blind levels are 30 minutes long, and Day 1 sees 22 of them played. Don't worry about burnout because there are 20-minute breaks every four levels, plus a 75-minute dinner break after Level 16 (~7:00 p.m.). Late registration remains open for 12 levels, closing around 5:00 p.m.

Anyone who bags up at the close of play must return to the venue from 11:00 a.m. local time on June 9.

Alen Bakovic of Canada is this event's reigning champion. At the 2024 WSOP, a record-breaking 3,351 players bought in and created a $1,709,010 prize pool. The talkative Bakovic claimed $207,064 of that sum and a gold WSOP bracelet to keep his circuit ring company.

A loud rail supported Bakovic throughout the final table, and he attributed having friends in his corner for being able to remain cool under pressure.

"These guys made it easy for me," said Bakovic, referring to his rail who cheered him on to victory. "I remember thinking, why am I so calm? And I knew it was because of them."
