Heimiller Requests a Discount
Sheldon Gross limped in early position, and Rob Hollink over limped on the button. Dan Heimiller raised from the small blind to 25,000, and Roland Israelashvili three-bet all in for 205,000. Everyone folded to Heimiller, who deliberated.
Heimiller asked for the total again and stated, "If it was a little less, I would call". Roland Israelashvili joked, "What do you want a discount now?".
Heimiller teased, stating, "How old are you?", "I can't call, because you are not young". Israelashvili won the pot uncontested.
On the other hand, at that same table, Rainer Kempe raised in the hijack to 25,000, and Julio Serrao called in the big blind. The flop came out with 6♣K♠7♠, and Kempe bet out 22,000 after Serrao checked. Serrao called.
The turn 9♣ brought out a check by both players.
On the river Q♦, Serrao led out for 78,000, and Kempe made the call.
It was a chopped pot with Kempe tabling K♦5♦ and Serrao holding K♣3♥; both players held top pair, and the kicker was irrelevant.
