Coatar Willing to Put Chips in Play

Geoffrey Coatar has made some interesting calls when playing "big stack poker" as he has said for much of the day. And he has won most of those hands.

Now at the final table, Coatar has seemingly been more selective, but he has shoved all in several times and not gotten a call.

In a recent hand, he raised to 3,500,000 from under the gun, but didn't get any challengers. Earlier, he bet 10 million to force a fold from a preflop raise by Peter Fox.

The Simpsons is widely regarded as one of the most successful and beloved television shows of all time. But actress and high-stakes poker player Jennifer Tilly, who was married to Simpsons co-creator Sam Simon, tried to stop her ex-husband from making the iconic show.

Tilly, the star of the Chucky franchise and a recent guest on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, revealed her skepticism about Simon pursuing the cartoon in a new episode of the PokerNews Life Outside Poker podcast.

"I remember us trying to keep Sam from doing it because he had been offered his own deal, multi-million-dollar deal, at Hollywood Pictures, which was at the time very trendy," Tilly told PokerNews. "And I said, 'Sam, don't you want to be your own person and do your own shows?'"

In the latest two hands on the final table, Ryan Hohner limped in from the small blind and Geoffrey Coatar checked his option in the big blind.

They checked to the river on 4♠10♣J♠3♣Q♠, where Hohner bet 2,500,000. Coater kept shouting "Quads," throughout the hand, but didn't think his hand was good enough to call, so he folded.

In the next hand, Peter Fox made it 3,000,000 from under the gun and Nicholas Seward shoved 18,500,000 from the big blind. Fox went into the tank for around two minutes, but eventually settled on a fold.

Ryan Hohner raised from under the gun to 3,000,000 and was called by Matthew Morin in the big blind.

The flop came J♣9♦8♣ and Morin check-called the 1,800,000 chip bet from Hohner.

On the 7♥ turn both players checked.

And when the Q♥ peeled off on the river Morin put in a 4,700,000 chip bet. Hohner thought for a bit before making the call and being shown K♦10♣ by Morin for the king-high straight.
