Morin's Stack Rockets With Aces

Level 36 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Matthew Morin
Matthew Morin

A huge pot just went Matthew Morin's way!

Morin opened from middle position to 1,200,000 and Mikhail Sniatovskii three-bet from the small blind to 3,800,000. Once the action was back on Morin, he moved all in.

"How much is it?" asked Sniatovskii. Morin replied, "Around 17,". As Morin was counting, Sniatovskii slid in a stack and called.

Matthew Morin: AA All in
Mikhail Sniatovskii: QQ

Morin had the rockets and was hoping they could make his stack blast off into orbit. The flop of 968 was clean for Morin and gave hiim a backdoor flush draw. Sniatovskii had two chances at two outs and missed the first attempt as the 9 hit the turn.

When the A hit the river, Morin improved to a full house and went to celebrate with his rail, while Sniatovskii had to cough up the chips and was left with around 5,000,000.

Huge Double-Up for Coatar

Level 36 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Geoffrey Coatar had been itching to get all of his chips into a pot. He was squirming and squeezing cards hoping for a playable hand. He finally got one.

Daniel Cosner raised to 1,400,000 chips preflop from the cutoff and Coatar called, saying he had lost a lot of money on the hand he was playing.

The flop came 5109. Cosner fired again, this time to the tune of 1,600,000 chips. Coatar hopped into the pot immediately.

When the 6 hit on the turn, Cosner bet out, Coatar went over the top with a raise to more than 5,000,000. When Cosner made the call, Coatar was so excited that he turned over his cards for a second, thinking he had been put all in.

It is unclear whether Cosner saw both cards, but when the dealer tabled the 5 on the river, Cosner went all in. Coatar quickly called and shouted with glee.

Geoffrey Coatar: Q9All in
Daniel Cosner: 87

Cosner had turned a straight, while Coatar needed runner runner to make a diamond flush that was bigger than Cosner's.

Fox's Ladies Survive

Level 36 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Peter Fox shoved the button for 4,700,000 and Jonathan Stoeber reshoved from the small blind for around 11,000,000.

Peter Fox: QQ All in
Jonathan Stoeber: AJ

Fox held the lead with his Ladies, but he didn't want to see another after the flop of 10K6 gave Stoeber a Broadway draw. Thankfully for Fox, the 29 runout changed nothing, and he managed to double up.

Jonathan Schwartz Eliminated in 15th Place ($20,254)

Level 36 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Jonathan Schwartz
Jonathan Schwartz

It's been a great few hands for Ryan Hohner, but the opposite for Jonathan Schwartz.

First, Hohner made it 1,000,000 from under the gun and Nicholas Seward three-bet to 2,750,000 in the hijack. When it got back to Hohner, he four-bet to 4,500,000, and Seward folded.

In the next hand, it got to Schwartz in the small blind, who shoved for 6,650,000. Hohner was in the big blind and took around ten seconds before he called.

Jonathan Schwartz: A10 All in
Ryan Hohner: K10

Schwartz had the dominating hand, but fell behind as Hohner flopped the nuts on Q9J. No help arrived for Schwartz on the 56 runout, and he exited in 15th.

Schwartz had a deep run in the $600 Deepstack event just last week, and another one here shows he's doing all the right things. Just a matter of time, Schwartz.

Duncan Horst: AJ All in
Ryan Hohner: KK

The board ran out J94K10 which was not enough to save Horst, and he exited the tournament in 16th place.

Morin Takes It on the Turn

Level 35 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Matthew Morin made it 1,000,000 to go in middle position and Lukas Hafner called from the big blind.

The flop came 8K2 and Hafner check-called a bet of 700,000 from Morin to the J turn. Again Hafner checked, and again Morin bet, this time for 1,800,000. Hafner folded.

Hohner Draws First Blood

Level 35 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

After the redraw, the first few hands did not bring a flop. When it did, the intensity increased quickly.

Shawn Buchanan, from middle position, took the lead against big blind Ryan Hohner, by raising preflop, then adding 700,000 to the pot after J95 hit the board. Hohner made the call.

Both players checked the turn of 10 and the river 6. Hohner showed KQ to take down the hand with a straight, and move ahead of Buchanan in chips.
