Blom Gets the Max

Level 8 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

On a board of K638, Viktor Blom and Alexandros Theologis were heads-up with around 80,000 in the middle. Blom checked to Theologis who bet 45,000 and Blom check-raised to 125,000. Theologis called and the 2 landed on the river.

Blom counted out a bet of 250,000, enough to cover Theologis' stack of around 150,000. Theologis went into the tank, using one of his time banks before dropping in the call.

Blom turned over 88 for a set of eights while Theologis could only muster KJ for top pair.

In a three-way pot on a board of Q39, Jack Roser checked in the small blind and Mustapha Kanit bet 55,000.

Kathy Lehne called on the button and Roser raised to 150,000. Kanit called off with about the same amount and Lehne folded.

Mustapha Kanit: J10 All in
Jack Roser: Q7

Kanit was open-ended and hit his straight on the K turn as the A river confirmed a double for the Italian.

"It's change for you, but I'm on life support here," Kanit told his opponent.

Level 8 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Jack Roser opened to 24,000 in middle position and Cary Katz called from the small blind. Chongxian Yang three-bet to 104,000 from the big blind and Roser let his hand go. Katz, however, shoved all in and Yang called off his stack of 409,000.

The board ran out 109422 and Yang's pocket queens were just enough to pip the jacks of Katz for a double up.

Alexandre Reard
Alexandre Reard

Emilien Pitavy opened to 25,000 in the hijack and was called by Brek Schutten on the button and Alexandre Reard in the big blind. The flop came J95 and the action checked to Schutten who bet 40,000. Reard called and Pitavy got out of the way.

The turn brought the 2 and Reard checked again. Schutten tossed in a bet of 65,000 and Reard check-raised all in as the bigger stack. Schutten mulled it over for 30 seconds but decided to lay his hand down.

Kabrhel Has Talking Chips

Level 7 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Martin Kabrhel opened to 20,000 in early position and Gregory Jensen ripped all in for 165,000 on his left. The action folded back to Kabrhel who called, hoping for a 50% chance.

Martin Kabrhel: AK

Kabrhel actually found himself in a dominating position and the flop of 1075 left it that way. The 10 on the turn provided some chop outs but the A on the river sent Jensen to the rail.

"Good luck on your rebuy, sir," Kabrhel needled after the hand.

Here a Shove, There a Shove, Everywhere a Shove Shove

Level 7 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

As the end of the day is approaching, the short stacks are looking for a quick double-up or to grab a fresh stack of 300,000 chips at the cost of $50,000. At one table, Viktor Blom was all in for 255,000 and called by Shannon Shorr in the big blind.

Viktor Blom: 77All in
Shannon Shorr: AK

The flop came 732 and Blom flopped a set of sevens, leaving Shorr drawing thin. The 8 on the turn locked it up and the J was just a formality.

Nearby, Samuel Laskowitz and Jakob Miegel were involved in a pot of around 75,000 where Miegel led out with a bet from the big blind on a flop of A109. Laskowitz raised to 100,000 and Miegel just called.

The turn was the 4 and Miegel checked to Laskowitz who shoved all in for 123,000. Miegel called and tabled 109 for two pair. Laskowitz showed A10 for a better two pair and the 2 on the river allowed him to double up.

Viktor Blom raised it up from the cutoff and Oliver Weis three-bet to 75,000 in the small blind. Blom countered with a four-bet to 180,000 and Weis five-bet jammed all in for 625,000. Blom snapped him off and the cards were on their backs.

The flop came J97 and Weis took the lead with a pair of jacks. Blom had a straight draw to hit but the 6 and 6 runout was of no help.

"Where's my seatbelt?" David Coleman asked.
