Hastings and Edengren Chop

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Brian Hastings opened the cutoff to 225,000 and Magnus Edengren snap-called in the small blind. In the big blind, Philip Sternheimer weighed his options before he elected to just call, although the three-bet face was in effect.

On the 876 flop, Sternheimer led for 250,000 from the big blind, Hastings moved all-in for 1,475,000, and Edengren instantly moved in for 1,675,000. Sternheimer put his head in his hands as he faced a tough decision.

"This would have been so much easier if I just potted pre," lamented Sternheimer, before he folded.

Brian Hastings: A965 All in
Magnus Edengren: A1032

Edengren had the nut low while Hastings had the straight. The 10 turn gave Edengren a flush draw for the scoop, except for the seven of clubs which would give Hastings a straight flush. The K bricked off on the river as the pot was chopped.
