Seven-High Bluff in WSOP $250K w/ 15% Pot Bet; Did It Work?

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Matthias Eibinger x Brandon Steven
Matthias Eibinger x Brandon Steven

The $250,000 Super High Roller — the biggest buy-in on the 2025 World Series of Poker schedule — got underway Sunday at noon inside Paris Las Vegas. And it didn’t take long for fireworks.

Austrian high-stakes crusher Matthias Eibinger, who has more than $24 million in live earnings according to The Hendon Mob, attempted an ambitious seven-high bluff with a 15% pot shove on businessman Brandon Steven. But did the gutsy move pay off?

Beckers Stays Alive

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Ken Beckers was forced all in on the big blind for his last 10,000. Sven Wedekin raised under the gun to 40,000 and saw calls from Raymond Padgett in early position and Brandon Mitchell from middle position.

The flop came 455 and Wedekin led out for 30,000. Padgett then went all in for 120,000. Mitchell folded, and Wedekin snap called.

Ken Beckers: J3All in
Raymond Padgett: 88All in
Sven Wedekin: JJ

Padgett was in trouble and needed to hit an eight or miracle running cards for a straight to stay alive. No help when the K came on the turn, but this did give Beckers some hope of staying alive.

The 6 fell on the river and gave Beckers a flush, but was no help to Padgett, who was sent to the cage. Wedekin was happy to be pushed the big side pot, leaving Beckers scooping in a bowl of rice, but still happy to be alive.

Kings Hold for Serebryany

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Elvyn Bello raised from middle position to 21,000 only for Larry Serebryany to three-bet to 51,000 from the button. Michael Thach then four-bet jammed all in from the small blind for 155,000. Bello folded, and Serebryany snap called.

Michael Thach: JJAll in
Larry Serebryany: KK

No help for Thach on the 1046 flop, and when the K came on the turn, he was drawing dead and off to the cage. The irrelevant 7 came on the river.

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Gabriel Andrade opened for 20,000 and got two callers in Michael Holm on the button and Jacob Beck in the big blind.

The flop came 479. After a check from Beck, Andrade fired another 25,000 which Holm called. Beck folded leaving the other two to hash it out.
