Matt Grapenthien raised on the button and in the small blind, Ilia Krupin three-bet and Grapenthien called.
The flop rolled out J♥3♠3♥ and Krupin bet 10,000 to put Grapenthien all in and Grapenthien called.
Matt Grapenthien: A♥K♣7♠5♥
Ilia Krupin: J♦3♦2♣2♥
Krupin locked up the pot on the J♠ turn to give him jacks full of threes before the inconsequential A♦ river and the WSOP bracelet winner took his leave from the tournament area.
Melvin McCraney called in middle position before Dennis Morrison moved his short stack all in from the cutoff. Ilia Krupin announced a raise in the big blind, with McCraney making the call.
Krupin checked the 10♦4♠7♦ flop and called after McCraney fired a bet into the middle. The two exchanged a bet and raise on the 5♣ turn, while Krupin led out for the final bet on the 3♥ river and McCraney called.
All three hands were turned up, with Morrison at risk.
Dennis Morrison: A♣K♣10♥7♥
Melvin McCraney: A♠K♥3♦2♥
Ilia Krupin: J♠J♥6♥3♠
Krupin made a straight to take the high, while McCraney made the nut low. That left Morrison in last, ending his tournament run in 15th position.
Jon Kyte was heads up against Joseph Bertrand on the Jx3x6x flop. Kyte's stack was quickly in the middle and at risk against Bertrand.
Jon Kyte: AxKxJx10x
Joseph Bertrand: A♥Qx7x2♥
Kyte's top pair fell behind after Bertrand connected with the Qx turn. The 7x river left Bertrand with two pair for the high, along with the nut low to scoop and send Kyte to the rail.
The first mixed game bracelet of the 2025 World Series of Poker will be awarded today, as 16 contenders return to battle for the Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better title.
Just two tables remain when action resumes at 1 p.m. local time, with Melvin McCraney heading up the field in the event center at Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas.
Not far behind him is Day 1 chipleader David Shmuel, who sits in second place after the penultimate day of action. Ilia Krupin rounds out the top three, as the trio represent the only players with at least 50 big blinds in their stack.
