Hasdal Eliminates Bronshtein

Action was picked up with Yuval Bronshtein all in for his final chips against Andrew Hasdal, who was also all in for slightly more against Eugene Katchalov, who had both players covered.

Hasdal's nine-eight-five was good to best Bronshtein's nine-eight-six and he survived to take both the main and side pot and the two-time WSOP bracelet winner was eliminated from the tournament.

Idema Frustrates Abitbol

Jason Froelich completed and was called by Daniel Idema. Steven Abitbol raised and both Froelich and Idema called.

Abitbol bet on fourth street, which got a fold from Froelich and a call from Idema.

Idema then led out for a bet on fifth after Abitbol caught a queen and Abitbol responded with a raise. Undeterred, Idema made it three bets to go and Abitbol called.

Abitbol then called a bet from Idema on sixth and both players checked down on seventh.

Idema showed 2x2xAx for a nine and Abitbol showed he held 5x2x and angrily tossed his hand into the muck.

Heads-up on fourth street, Ryutaro Suzuki and Nikolay Ponomarev checked and then Ponomarev called a bet from Suzuki on fifth.

Ponomarev bet his remaining 11,000 after Suzuki paired his 5x on sixth street and Suzuki called after tanking for a bit.

Suzuki turned over a Kx on seventh and said "You win." Ponomarev already held a nine and drew an irrelevant 10x on seventh to make his double up official.

Action was picked up on fifth street in a pot between Huck Seed and Eugene Katchalov.

"I think I know what you have," Seed said as he check-called a bet from Katchalov on fifth street.

"I think you have a wheel, and I'm calling to tie," Seed continued as he check-called again from Katchalov.

Seventh street saw Seed check and Katchalov bet once more.

"I did not make a wheel," Seed said as he put in the call.

Katchalov did not make a wheel, but turned over 8x6xAx for number two and he won the pot versus the 1996 Main Event champion.
