Tchong Can't Boat Up on the River

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Alex Tchong
Alex Tchong

Catching the action on the flop with the board showing 78Q, Alex Tchong got all his 110,000 chips into the middle from the small blind against Justin Liberto out of the big blind.

Alex Tchong: AQQQ4 All in
Justin Liberto: 76543

Tchong had top set and the better low draw, against the straight draw of Liberto. The 9 on the turn catapulted Liberto into the lead with a straight. There was no board-pairing river to save Tchong, as the K fell and Tchong was out of the tournament.

Lawrence Brandt: A9754 All in

Becker Sneaks Into the Money

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Andrew Becker survived the money bubble with only around 25,000 as he had all but one 5,000 chip in the middle going to the turn on a board of 10J59. Dylan Wilkerson then bet 20,000 from the button, Becker tossed in his last chip, and Arthur Morris also called in the cutoff.

The river was the A and Wilkerson bet another 65,000. "Do you have a straight flush?" Morris asked Wilkerson as he tanked for a minute before folding.

"No, ace-high," Wilkerson said, showing AJJ73 as Becker tossed his cards into the muck and headed off to the payout desk.

Allen Kessler was also eliminated shortly after the bubble burst.

Genova Eliminated on the Bubble

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Joseph Genova
Joseph Genova

Joseph Genova had whittled down to his last 3,000 and was forced all in from the big blind. Veerachai Vongxaiburana then limped in under the gun, George Alexander raised to 40,000 in middle position, and Vongxaiburana called.

Both players checked the KQ10 flop. Alexander then bet 30,000 on the 2 turn and Vongxaiburana folded.

Alexander turned over AJ752 for the nut straight and Genova realized he was already drawing dead going to the 4 river. His cards quickly hit the muck as he was eliminated on the money bubble.

The remaining 61 players are in the money.
