Liebert Gets One Through

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Kathy Liebert
Kathy Liebert

Kathy Liebert ranks third on The Hendon Mob Women's All-Time Money List. Having finished in fifth place in this same event in 2022 for $186,541, she is hoping to beat that score this year. Step one in that quest is getting some shoves through, as she is on a shorter stack.

The first of those shoves occurred when she was under the gun and shoved her remaining 36,000 into the middle, eliciting a round of folds from her tablemates. Liebert will be a threat to win this event if she can get hold of some chips.

Cheek Finally Has Luck on His Side

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Action was picked up with three players with their hands and chips in the middle of the table.

Daniel Spargur: KJ All in
David Cheek: AK All in
Michael Holleman: AA

Both Spargur and Cheek expected the worst when the saw Holleman's aces, but the flop came 8KK giving both Spargur and Cheek trips, with the latter having the superior kicker. Holleman was looking for a miracle to turn the hand back to his favor.

The runout 4Q didn't change anything at all. Spargur, outkicked, left the table while Holleman was left with just 1,000 behind.

Cheek, absolutely surprised with what just happened, said that normally this kind of luck doesn't happen to him at all. He scooped the pot, happy to continue his run.

Kings Good for Mcdow

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

There was roughly 22,000 in the pot on a flop of 1068.

Karen Spink led from the big blind for 15,000 when the 6 came on the turn. Roger Mcdow called from under the gun.

Spink decided to lead again for 20,000 when the Q hit the river, and Mcdow snap-called. Spink tabled K8 for two pair with the sixes on the board, but could not beat Mcdow's KK for a higher two pair.

Queens No Match for Aces as Stalman Prevails Over Slezak

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Robert Slezak
Robert Slezak

Philippe Stalmans raised to 7,000 from middle position and was called by Robert Slezak in the big blind.

The dealer revealed a 5K4 flop, Slezak checked, Stalman bet 6,000 and Slezak called.

The turn card was the A. Slezak checked once again, and this time, Stalman bet 14,000. Slezak mucked his hand, revealing QQ, and mentioned that he had planned to go all in on a flop where his queens were still an overpair, but this was not that flop. Stalman, being a gentleman, kindly showed Slezak AAx, proving that what initially seemed like a bad board for Slezak was not the case.

Calm and Cool

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Daniel Weaver open-shoved all-in for 16,000 in hijack and got a call from John Kniska on the button. Chung Ho in the big blind really wanted to call but ultimately just folded his hand.

Daniel Weaver: A8 All in
John Kniska: AJ

Like most seniors that had seen it all, both players kept it cool and calm when the flop dropped 36J giving Weaver a flush draw.

The 5 turn fell completing Weavers flush with no fuss. The 7 river was dealt without consequence. The dealer after the hand was looking intently at the cards making sure she pushed the chips towards the right direction.

As cool as the AC, Kniska pointed at Weaver telling the dealer his flush had won the hand.
