Vince Burgio

During the last break, the floorman was searching for the oldest remaining player in Event #48. That honor went to none other than Vince Burgio at 90 years young, a legend of the game with over $2 million in reported tournament earnings. Burgio won a WSOP gold bracelet in 1994 in the $1,500 Seven Card Stud Split event. A member of the Seniors Poker Hall of Fame, he had the honor of announcing, "Shuffle up and Deal!" to commence play after the break.

Richardson's Queen Hold

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Larry Wagner opened for 10,000 and got called by Kevin McBride in late position. Adam Richardson in the big blind had other things in mind and shoved all in for 61,000. Wagner got out of the way, and McBride called for a showdown.

Adam Richardson: QQ All in
Kevin McBride: AK

The flop came 6J10. McBride's outs increased with a gutshot straight draw, but with Richardson holding two queens, it made another queen coming out highly unlikely.

The runout 56 didn't help McBride at all. The pot was pushed to Richardson for a double up.

Miscommunication at the Table Leads to Frustration for Eminoglu

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

There were roughly 70,000 chips in the pot on 99638.

Yucel Eminoglu bet 40,000 from the big blind and was quickly called by Xixiang Luo in the cutoff. Eminoglu attempted to communicate his holding to Luo, but Luo, wearing headphones, didn’t hear him. Frustrated, Eminoglu tossed his A2 onto the felt, while Luo revealed 95.

Eminoglu, visibly annoyed, asked, “Why did you make me show? I told you what I had.”

Luo calmly removed his headphones and replied, “I had headphones on, how was I supposed to hear you?”

Eminoglu shook his head in frustration.
