Nazarenko Hits the Rail

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Ludovic Geilich made it 2,100 from early position and Steven Forman called on the button. Ruslan Nazarenko potted it to 9,300 from the button, which got called by both players.

Geilich checked the K64 flop and Forman bet the size of the pot. Nazarenko called for his last 18,000, and Geilich folded.

Ruslan Nazarenko: AAK6 All in
Steven Forman: KQ87

Nazarenko had flopped top two pair, but Forman had a lot of outs with two cards to come. The rest of the board came 5Q to give Nazarenko the winner with a straight on the turn, sending Nazarenko to the rail.

Bigger Boat Wins

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Mark Aridgides improved to 160,000 chips, one of the largest stacks in the tournament, with a boat-over-boat win to bust Craig Mennen just before the end of Level 3.

After a flop of 227, the 5 dropped on the turn and it spelled trouble for Mennen, who held AJ52.

Aridgides, playing from the hijack, check-raised Mennen with a 50,000 bet. Mennen, thinking deuces-full would be good, went for the all-in reraise.

Aridgides, with a hand of AQ77 quickly called.

The river 3 was of no consequence, as Aridgides’ flopped sevens-full won the 143,000-chip pot.

Schwartz checked once again on the 7, quickly followed by the table taps of Vo and Hamed.

The rivered paired the board with the 10, Schwartz checked, Vo checked, and Hamed placed a bet of 3,000, which was followed by the quick folds of his two opponents.
