Livingston Not Afraid of Busting; Bubble Play Continues

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Alex Livingston
Alex Livingston

Alex Livingston called a three-bet preflop, in position, against Mark Aridgides and they went heads up to a flop of K32.

Aridgides continued from the big blind with a bet of 70,000. Livingston called.

The turn brought the J and Aridgides checked this time, prompting a pot-sized bet from Livingston.

Aridgides folded and Livingston let him know he flopped a huge combo draw by showing the A453.

Someone else at the table chimed in, "So, you're saying you had a pair of threes?".

Two Eliminated on the Bubble

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Wagner Wysotchanski

Less than ten minutes into play on Day 2, Rob Hollink and Jeffrey Gale were eliminated on the same hand, just a few slots from being in the money.

Wagner Wysotchanski did the honors, erasing the all-in players with a full house he picked up on the turn.

All of Hollink’s and Gale’s chips – 27,000 for Hollink, 42,000 for Gale – were at risk after a flop of K810.

The 8 on the turn gave Wysotchanski the boat, before the inconsequential 3 hit the river.

Wagner Wysotchanski entered the day sixth in chips and moved into the top three with a pair of wins in the early hands of the level.

Welcome to Day 2 of Event #5: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP).

Play begins at noon local time at Paris and Horseshoe, Las Vegas. There are 123 players remaining from 757 entries, each vying for the $620,696 first-place prize.

Action should be tense from the start with the money bubble still to come, as only the top 114 finishers will be earning a payday.

New Zealander Matthew Beck, hoping to win his first WSOP bracelet, is the chip leader heading into the second day of play with 1,320,000 chips.

Michael Duek, who made the final in the WSOP Main Event and a $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha in 2022, is not far behind with 1,026,000 chips.

Among them are 2013 Main Event winner Ryan Riess, and six-time bracelet winner Nick Schulman. Notables such as Shaun Deeb and Mike “The Mouth” Matusow, as well as legends Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu, are still alive in the star-studded field.

Day 2, playing in Horseshoe Silver, will feature 60-minute levels (as opposed to 40 minutes on Day 1), and the competition will run ten levels, leading into Saturday’s finish.

Stay tuned to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2025 World Series of Poker, for live updates from this and all bracelet events at the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas.
