Michael Duek raised the pot to 1,800,000 with the A♠K♠5♦4♣ and Dennis Weiss defended the A♥8♣4♦2♥. They checked the Q♣4♠3♣ flop to the 3♠ turn on which Weiss checked once again. Duek now bet 2,600,000 with his nut flush draw and Weiss folded.

In the first hand back from the break, Michael Duek limped the J♣8♣7♥3♠ and Dennis Weiss checked the J♦6♣3♦2♣ to the A♥J♠4♥ flop. Both checked to the 7♦ turn on which Weiss check-called for 1,200,000. They checked again the K♠ river and Weiss declared "I have a jack".

Duek replied "jack seven" and won the first pot of heads-up play.

Dennis Weiss limped in on the button with K♠J♠7♠7♥ and Michael Duek raised to 2,400,000 from the small blind with 10♣9♥8♥7♣. Jeffrey Hakim called from the big blind with Q♠10♥10♦9♦ and Weiss came along as well for the first three-way pot of the day.

The flop fell K♥4♥4♣ and Duek led out with a bet of 1,500,000. Hakim folded after connecting but Weiss called with two pair. The turn was the A♣ and Duek slid out a bet of 3,000,000. Weiss gave up the best hand and Duek raked in the pot.

Weiss now bet 650,000 and Duek called with his middle pair for the German to improve to a wheel on the 4♣ turn. Both players checked to see the 6♦ river for free and Weiss bet another 2,000,000 now.

Duek lets it go and Weiss maintained the lead over his nearest follower.

Hakim flopped two pair to take the lead and the Q♣ on the turn locked up his double with a full house. The 3♦ on the river was just a formality and Duek took a hit to his stack.

On the K♦ river, Duek improved to kings full with the superior hand and faced a bet of 4,200,000 by Weiss. It took a while for Duek to make his next move and the pot-sized raise forced an instant fold from Weiss.

In a limped battle of the blinds to the 7♠6♠3♥ flop, Dennis Weiss checked with the 8♠5♣4♠4♣ for the flopped straight and flush redraw. Michael Duek bet 750,000 with A♦10♣9♥6♣ and Weiss just smooth-called.

The 4♦ turn kept Weiss ahead with the still nutted straight and he checked, prompting a bet of 2,200,000 by Duek for Weiss to call.

That led both big stacks to the 9♣ on the river and Weiss checked the third street in a row. Duek now fired a bet of 5,600,000 and Weiss snap-called to reclaim the lead from Duek by some margin.

Weiss finally took a stab at the pot with a bet of 1,450,000 but Duek was waiting to pick him off with trip nines. Duek raked in the pot and took a step ahead of Weiss on the leaderboard.
