Following a button limp by Dennis Weiss with the J♣7♣3♣2♦, Michael Duek checked with his 10♠8♣6♥4♣ and checked the 8♦7♠3♥ on the flop. Weiss bet 800,000 and Duek called.
The 9♦ turn gave Duek the second nut straight and he bet 2,500,000, Weiss reluctantly called with his two pair and gutshot. The 5♥ on the river saw Duek bet 6,500,000 and Weiss folded.
Michael Duek potted to 1,800,000 on the button with the Q♠Q♦5♣3♠ and Dennis Weis called in the big blind with the 7♠6♦6♣4♣. The 10♥6♥4♦ flop gave Weiss a set of sixes and he checked, Duek checked back his open-ended straight draw.
Both also opted to check the 9♥ on the turn and another heart rolled off with the J♥ river. Weiss now bet 1,100,000 and Duek folded.
Michael Duek potted to 1,800,000 with the 10♠10♦6♠2♦ and Dennis Weiss defended the A♥9♦6♣4♥ from the big blind.
Following the A♣Q♠3♥ flop, Weiss check-called for 1,400,000 and checked the 8♥ turn when picking up the nut flush draw. Duek checked back and the 2♠ followed on the river.
They checked again and Weiss claimed the pot to regain the momentum.
Michael Duek raised the pot to 1,800,000 with the A♠K♠5♦4♣ and Dennis Weiss defended the A♥8♣4♦2♥. They checked the Q♣4♠3♣ flop to the 3♠ turn on which Weiss checked once again. Duek now bet 2,600,000 with his nut flush draw and Weiss folded.
In the first hand back from the break, Michael Duek limped the J♣8♣7♥3♠ and Dennis Weiss checked the J♦6♣3♦2♣ to the A♥J♠4♥ flop. Both checked to the 7♦ turn on which Weiss check-called for 1,200,000. They checked again the K♠ river and Weiss declared "I have a jack".
Duek replied "jack seven" and won the first pot of heads-up play.
The final two players are now on a scheduled 10-minute break prior to the heads-up duel for the WSOP gold bracelet and huge top prize. Dennis Weiss holds a comfortable lead but Michael Duek still has a lot of big blinds at his disposal.

Dennis Weiss raised to 2,100,000 on the button and Jeffrey Hakim three-bet to 6,600,000 in the big blind. Weiss four-bet shoved all in and Hakim quickly called off his stack of 11,700,000.

The flop came A♠6♣3♥ and Weiss picked up a set of aces to take a stranglehold on the hand. The 9♥ on the turn gave Hakim some home with a straight draw but the 3♠ on the river gave Weiss a full house, sending Hakim home in third place.
Dennis Weiss limped in from the small blind with 10♣4♠3♠3♦ and Michael Duek checked his option in the big blind with Q♣7♣6♦2♦. The flop came A♥A♦7♦ and Weiss led out with a bet of 600,000. Duek called and the 3♥ appeared on the turn.
Weiss counted out another bet of 1,700,000 after making a full house and Duek made the right fold at the right time.
Jeffrey Hakim limped the small blind with the Q♦10♦5♣2♥ and Dennis Weiss checked the K♦9♥7♣3♠ from the big blind to the 9♦6♦3♣ flop. Hakim bet 900,000 and Weiss called, as they headed to the Q♣ turn.
"How much is in the pot?" Hakim inquired with the dealer and then bet 2,400,000. Weiss, likewise, asked for the pot size and pondered about his next move. After using one time bank, Weiss opted to fold.
Dennis Weiss limped in on the button with K♠J♠7♠7♥ and Michael Duek raised to 2,400,000 from the small blind with 10♣9♥8♥7♣. Jeffrey Hakim called from the big blind with Q♠10♥10♦9♦ and Weiss came along as well for the first three-way pot of the day.
The flop fell K♥4♥4♣ and Duek led out with a bet of 1,500,000. Hakim folded after connecting but Weiss called with two pair. The turn was the A♣ and Duek slid out a bet of 3,000,000. Weiss gave up the best hand and Duek raked in the pot.
