James Carroll
James Carroll

Hand #59: Jesse Yaginuma shoved from the button, and James Carroll called off his stack of 41,400,000 from the big blind.

James Carroll: A10 All in
Jesse Yaginuma: Q3

Carroll was ahead and was looking at a potential double-up and a possible comeback. Things were looking good when the dealer flopped 4J4, maintaining Carroll's lead. The turn Q fell, however, pushing Yaginuma to the front. Carroll still had outs with his ace, but the river 5 fell, ending his tournament life with a runner-up finish.

Josh Reichard Eliminated in 3rd Place ($702,360)

Level 42 : Blinds 1,200,000/2,400,000, 2,400,000 ante
Josh Reichard
Josh Reichard

Josh Reichard raised to 5,000,000 on the button and James Carroll three-bet to 20,300,000 from the small blind. When it got back to Reichard, he shoved for 106,300,000, and Carroll quickly called.

Josh Reichard: 33 All in
James Carroll: JJ

Reichard went with his small pocket pair, but was up against the bigger pair of Carroll and was staring a third-place finish in the face.

A flop of 1092 was no help, and the Q turn left Reichard with just one shot at two outs. Neither of those appeared on the 8 river, and Reichard was out in third.

Josh Reichard on the button raised to 33,800,000, putting Jacques Ortega effectively all-in from the big blind. With action to him, Ortega had to stand up and look at his rail before making the call.

Jacques Ortega: A8 All in
Josh Reichard: 65

Ortega was ahead but remained tense as the dealer displayed the board. The board ran KJ1096, however, giving Reichard a pair on the river and ending Ortega's tournament journey in fourth place.

Jeffrey Tanouye Eliminated in 5th Place ($409,870)

Level 41 : Blinds 1,000,000/2,000,000, 2,000,000 ante
Jeffrey Tanouye
Jeffrey Tanouye

Josh Reichard limped in from the small blind and Jeffrey Tanouye checked his option in the big blind.

On the 253 flop, Reichard bet 3,000,000 and Tanouye raised to 6,500,000. Reichard then shoved, and Tanouye called off the extra 7,300,000 he had behind.

Jeffrey Tanouye: 73 All in
Josh Reichard: 95

Tanouye made second pair, but he was trailing to the top pair of Reichard. An 8 on the turn changed nothing, and Tanouye was eliminated in fifth when the K hit the river.

James Carroll holding K10 in cutoff opened to 4,500,000 and got a three-bet from Josh Reichard to 39,000,000 from the small blind. Covered by the bet, Jonah Labranche, in the big blind, went all-in for 37,800,000. Carroll got out of the way, leaving the two players to go on a showdown.

Josh Reichard: K9

The flop came 52Q giving Reichard a flush and evoking a shocked reaction from the railbirds. The runout 910 didn't improve Labranche's hand, ending his tournament journey and sending him to the rails.

Alejandro Ganivet Eliminated in 7th Place ($245,430)

Level 40 : Blinds 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante
Alejandro Ganivet
Alejandro Ganivet

Jesse Yaginuma raised to 3,200,000 from the hijack with KQ and Josh Reichard called in the cutoff with A10. Alejandro Ganivet was in the small blind with A4 and three-bet to 11,200,000. Yaginuma quickly got out of the way, and Reichard called.

On the 5A3 flop, Ganivet tapped the table and Reichard threw out a bet of 7,500,000. Ganivet, with around 28,000,000 behind, just called with his top pair and gutshot straight draw.

When the J hit the turn, Ganivet again checked and Reichard shoved. Ganivet had just under 21,000,000 behind and after some time, he called.

Ganivet needed a deuce or four to win the pot, also a five or a three would earn him a chop. Instead, the Q rolled off on the river, which meant Ganivet was out in seventh.
