Carroll was ahead and was looking at a potential double-up and a possible comeback. Things were looking good when the dealer flopped 4♦J♠4♥, maintaining Carroll's lead. The turn Q♥ fell, however, pushing Yaginuma to the front. Carroll still had outs with his ace, but the river 5♥ fell, ending his tournament life with a runner-up finish.

Josh Reichard raised to 5,000,000 on the button and James Carroll three-bet to 20,300,000 from the small blind. When it got back to Reichard, he shoved for 106,300,000, and Carroll quickly called.

Reichard went with his small pocket pair, but was up against the bigger pair of Carroll and was staring a third-place finish in the face.

A flop of 10♥9♣2♣ was no help, and the Q♠ turn left Reichard with just one shot at two outs. Neither of those appeared on the 8♥ river, and Reichard was out in third.

James Carroll holding K♥10♦ in cutoff opened to 4,500,000 and got a three-bet from Josh Reichard to 39,000,000 from the small blind. Covered by the bet, Jonah Labranche, in the big blind, went all-in for 37,800,000. Carroll got out of the way, leaving the two players to go on a showdown.

Jesse Yaginuma raised to 3,200,000 from the hijack with K♠Q♥ and Josh Reichard called in the cutoff with A♦10♦. Alejandro Ganivet was in the small blind with A♠4♠ and three-bet to 11,200,000. Yaginuma quickly got out of the way, and Reichard called.

On the 5♥A♣3♦ flop, Ganivet tapped the table and Reichard threw out a bet of 7,500,000. Ganivet, with around 28,000,000 behind, just called with his top pair and gutshot straight draw.

When the J♠ hit the turn, Ganivet again checked and Reichard shoved. Ganivet had just under 21,000,000 behind and after some time, he called.

Ganivet needed a deuce or four to win the pot, also a five or a three would earn him a chop. Instead, the Q♣ rolled off on the river, which meant Ganivet was out in seventh.
