One of the perennial favorites of the 2025 World Series of Poker is underway: Event #53: $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold'em. Yesterday, a total of 1,612 hopefuls paid the $1,500 entry fee for a chance to compete for a first-place prize of at least $1,000,000 (guaranteed!). Only 345 of them punched their ticket to Day 2 on Sunday, June 22.

The chase to crown poker's next millionaire is in full swing, with Day 1b at the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas offering another 11 60-minute levels of play with 20-minute breaks after every two, as well as a 75-minute dinner break after Level 8. Players will receive a starting stack of 25,000 to begin their quest for WSOP glory.

Registration remains open for each flight until the start of Level 9, after dinner break, at about 8:15 p.m. Players are allowed one reentry per flight.

The survivors of all four starting flights will combine on Day 2, Sunday, June 22, where the field will restart at 11 a.m. This five-day event is slated to crown its champion on Day 5 on Wednesday, June 25.

PokerNews coverage will kick off on Day 2 and continue all the way until a new millionaire is crowned!
