Gerhart Busts As Play Winds Down

Level 12

2-7 Triple Draw

Kevin Gerhart raised first to act and was called by Robert Wells in the cutoff, Brian Kirschner on the button, and Jeff Madsen in the big blind for a four-way pot.

Madsen drew one and everyone else drew two on the first draw. Madsen then led out for a bet and Gerhart raised all in for his last 4,800. Robert Wells raised, Kirschner called cold, and Madsen folded.

On the second draw, Gerhart and Kirschner drew one while Wells stood pat. Kirschner then called a bet from Wells.

The same drawing action occurred on the final round and Wells check-called a bet from Kirschner, who tabled 8x6x5x3x2x for an eight-six.

It was best against Wells' 8x7x4x3x2x and Gerhart's 7x6x6x4x2x — sending Gerhart to the rail just as it was announced five more hands will be dealt before play concludes for the day.

Brown Outdraws Ramos

Level 11

2-7 Single Draw

Andrew Brown opened on the button and just behind him, Gabriel Ramos shoved for his last 9,400 from the small blind. It was folded back to Brown, who called to put Ramos at risk.

Ramos stood pat and Brown drew one.

Gabriel Ramos: 10x9x7x6x3xAll in
Andrew Brown: 9x7x3x2x

Brown tossed his draw face up on the table, which happened to be an 8x — giving Brown a nine to eliminate Ramos.

Shimelfarb Wins Classic Race to Bust Suzuki

Level 11

No-Limit Hold'em

Roland Israelashvili raised to 4,000 from early position and it was folded to Ryutaro Suzuki, who shoved for 47,000 from the small blind.

"It's time for you to go home," Gennady Shimelfarb said from the big blind just before announcing he was also all in for slightly more. Israelashvili got out of the way and a showdown was held.

Ryutaro Suzuki: AKAll in
Gennady Shimelfarb: QQ

It was a fair fight, but the 39987 runout came clean for Shimelfarb's queen — eliminating Suzuki late in the evening.

Julia Hits the Rail

Level 11

Seven Card Stud

Nicholas Julia: K5 / AJ6Xx / Xx All in
Martin Schamaun: KJ / 856Xx / Xx

Julia completed first to act and Schauman called.

Julia led on fourth and led all-in for 2,300 on fifth, which Schauman called.

"I'm way ahead," Julia joked as the hands were tabled. Much to his surprise, he was in the lead with ace-high. Julia caught the Q on sixth and Schamaun got the Q to pick up a flush draw.

Schamaun revealed first on seventh with the 8 to pair. Julia needed to improve to stay alive, but he caught the 9 on the end as he was left with just ace-high, and the 2021 champion of this event hit the exit.

Brunner Sends Out Trojand

Level 10

Pot-Limit Omaha

Brian Brunner opened too 2,500 from under the gun and was called by Jeremy Trojand in the cutoff, Hooman Nikzad on the button, and Tom McCormick in the big blind.

On the AQ5 flop, Brunner continued for 4,500, Trojand called all-in for 3,900, and Nikzad called on the button.

Brunner opted to check on the 8 turn before Nikzad bet 5,000 and Brunner called.

On the J river, Brunner reluctantly check-called a bet of 10,000 from Nikzad.

Jeremy Trojand: KJ108 All in
Brian Brunner: QJ107
Hooman Nikzad: A1073

Trojand rivered broadway but was no good against the flushes of Brunner and Nikzad, who value-owned himself on the turn and river betting a worse flush, as Brunner made the right call on the river with the second nuts to scoop the pot.

Breck Spikes the River to Take the Rest from Williams

Level 10

Pot-Limit Omaha

Action was picked up three-ways to the Q52 flop with 17,000 in the middle. David Williams led for 7,000 from the small blind before Brian Breck potted to 38,000 from the hijack. Lawrence Brandt got out of the way from the hijack before Williams called all-in for 32,900.

David Williams: AA86 All in
Brian Breck: 6544

Williams was ahead with aces against the middle pair and gutter of Breck. The K offered no help to either player before the 4 river gave Breck a set of fours as Williams could only shrug at the brutal river on his way to the exit.
