Fan Calls Down Picone to Score a Crucial Double

With around 11,500 in the pot and the board showing 7♦J♦9♣K♠, Chih Fan checked from the small blind in a heads-up pot against Igor Picone in the big blind. Picone fired a bet of 11,000, and after some thought, Fan made the call.

The 5♣ river completed the board, and Fan checked once more. Picone quickly pushed in a stack of 5,000 chips, putting Fan all in for his remaining 39,000. Fan took a short pause, then tossed in the call.

Picone turned over Q♣3♣ for a missed straight draw, while Fan revealed K♦3♦ for top pair. His kings were good, and he locked up a double-up.
