Day 1 of Event #62: $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em 6-handed has concluded at the 2025 World Series of Poker hosted by Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas. Gathering 999 entries already, with one level of late registration remaining, this event had 348 players find a bag at the end of ten levels of play. The current prize pool is over $4,500,000 and growing.

Sebastian Toro skyrocketed up the leaderboard after the dinner break. He came out of nowhere to lead the field heading into Day 2, showcasing why he is 11th on Colombia’s all-time money list. Behind him are two men representing France, Samy Dubonnet and Benoit Fiasson. Dubonnet won a massive flip late in the day to secure himself the spot behind Toro as second in chips heading into Day 2.

Not all of the heavy hitters who entered today could find a bag. Poker superstars such as Chance Kornuth, Isaac Haxton, Alex Foxen, Brandon Wilson, David Coleman, and many more, could not make it through the day in their two allowed attempts.

Haxton found himself in a tough spot early in the day, and while unhappy about making the call on the end, could not escape his fate holding top two pair.

The players will return on Tuesday, June 24, at noon to Level 11 (1,000/2,500/2,500). They will play another ten 60-minute levels, with 15-minute breaks after every two levels. There will be a 60-minute dinner break after Level 16.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for continuing live updates from the tournament floor until a winner is determined.
