Yadlapati Finds a Double

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Srikanth Yadlapati piled all in for 855,000 from under the gun and Ludovic Uzan just called on the button. James Mendoza gave it some serious thought in the small blind but opted to fold and Adrien Delmas quickly folded his big blind.

Srikanth Yadlapati: KQAll in
Ludovic Uzan: 1010

The flop came Q85 and Yadlapati took the lead with a pair of queens. Uzan was the only player with a spade in his hand but the 8 and 4 changed nothing, giving Yadlapati a double up.

In the first hand, Lars Kamphues opened the action with a raise to 100,000 from under the gun. Marius Gierse, sitting in the cutoff, responded with a three-bet to 240,000. Golden Nugget pulled the plug on a $1,200 buy-in, $1 million guarantee after the Grand Poker Series tournament had already begun Wednesday morning.

The Las Vegas card room would inevitably cancel the tournament and refund all players after receiving criticism from those who'd entered and expected to be playing for a seven-figure prize pool.

PokerNews spoke with the poker room's Director of Poker Operations, Joel Garcia, and a player who entered the tournament, David Mcconachie, to find out what happened.

Yadlapati Rivers Straight and Takes it Down

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

With around 550,000 in the pot and the board showing K7910J Ludovic Uzan in the big blind checked to Srikanth Yadlapati in the cutoff. Yadlapati bet 250,000 and Uzan took his time before making the call.

Yadlapati showed Q8 for a straight, which seemed enough for Uzan as his cards found the muck.

Bruschi Folds, Giving Up Huge Pot

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

The pot stood at around 700,000, and the board showed 436K when Renan Bruschi in the small blind checked to Niall Farrell, who bet 480,000. Bruschi took his time before making the call.

Bruschi checked the 4 river once more, and Farrell went into the tank before going all in, covering Bruschi and putting him at risk if he decides to call. Now it was Bruschi's time to go into the tank, as he thought about his decision for almost three minutes.

In the end, he folded, giving up the decent pot to Farrell.
