Event #62: $5,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em
Day 3 Started
It is one of the toughest and most challenging events to win in the World Series of Poker. Event #62: $5,000 6-Handed No Limit Hold'em often attracts some of the game's best players, and this year, a whopping 1,168 entries were recorded by the close of registration, which created a prize pool of more than $5.3 million.
Today, just 54 hopefuls will return to their seats for the third and penultimate day of this tournament. Leading the way after a late-night surge on Day 2 is Robert Ashelm from Germany. Given the choice between playing this event or the Super Seniors just a few tables away, Ashelm chose the harder of the two options, but so far it has paid off. He will be closely followed by WSOP bracelet winner Samuel Bernabeu who will be looking to add some more jewelry to his collection.

There are many other notables looking to make their marks today. The 2014 WSOP Main Event champion, Martin Jacobson, is still in the mix with a stack of 505,000 and some could say he has them right where he wants them. Jacobson is the master of a short stack and will feel no pressure to do anything special when the cards go back in the air.
Thomas Boivin (2,005,000) will be looking to improve on his two third-place finishes in the high roller events earlier this series, Niall Farrell (1,735,000) has high hopes of another boisterous rail on route to a potential final table, and high-stakes cash game player Sergio Fernandez (1,525,000) has his sights set on landing his first major tournament title.
All this and more will be unfolding today at the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas, when the action gets underway at 12 p.m. local time. The players will be returning to Level 21 with the blinds at 10,000/25,000 and a 25,000 big blind ante. The plan is to play down to the final table or five players, depending on the pace of play. Those players will then return for the fourth and final day on Thursday, June 26, when a winner will be crowned.
Be sure to stay tuned to the PokerNews live updates for all the latest news and to find out who will lock up their spot at the final table later this evening.

The cards are in the air for Day 3 of the $5,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em with 54 players remaining.
The pot stood at around 300,000, and the board showed J♣A♠5♦8♥ with two players left in the hand. Nazar Buhaiov in the small blind and Turbo Nguyen in middle position. Nguyen went all in, prompting a snap-call of Buhaiov, and the cards went on their backs.
Nguyen had Q♣10♣ for a straight draw, and Buhaiov held A♦8♦ for two pair. The 3♦ river sealed the deal and sent Nguyen packing, whilst Buhaiov added to his stack.

Samuel Bernabeu opened to 50,000 from under the gun but saw Ludovic Uzan in the small blind three-bet to 225,000. The big blind folded and Bernabeu made the call.
The dealer fanned a flop of K♦Q♦6♦ where Uzan went into the tank before betting 270,000. Bernaneu stared at the board and folded.

Thiriart wasn't finished as he countered with a five-bet to 730,000, leaving just a few chips behind. Warren gave it some thought for a minute but decided to lay his hand down.

A completed board of A♣7♦4♣6♣2♥ was spread across the felt with around 500,000 in the middle already. Thomas Muehloecker had a bet of 400,000 in front of him, more than enough to cover the remaining 150,000 chips in front of Ioannis Angelou Konstas.
Konstas went into the tank for a minute before calling off the last of his chips. Muehloecker turned over A♥Q♦ and that was enough to best the A♦J♥ of Konstas.
