Jon Turner Eliminated in 11th Place ($10,106)
Limits: 60,000-120,000
In back-to-back hands, Jon 'Pearljammer' Turner's tournament came to an end to make him the first elimination of the day.
In the first hand, Nathan Gamble raised from under the gun and Turner three-bet in the cutoff. Gamble called and drew two while Turner took one. Gamble then check-called a bet.
On the second draw, both players took one apiece. Gamble led this time and Turner called, leaving 50,000 behind. Gamble stood pat and Turner drew one, after which both players checked.
Gamble showed 10x8x5x3x2x, Turner flashed 8x4x3x2x but bricked the final card.
In the next hand, Turner shoved all in for 50,000, Andres Korn raised from the small blind and Gamble folded the big blind.
"Protection!" Turner grinned.
On the first and second draw, Korn drew one while Turner drew two. Korn then stood pat and Turner drew one.
Korn revealed eighty-seven perfect 8x7x4x3x2x and Turner showed 7x6x4x3x, needing a deuce and a deuce only to save his tournament. The final card was a Qx instead and he was eliminated.
